Congrats on the Gold Sapphire!
What is lower than that serial number-wise? There is the superfractor, but is there anything between that and the /15?

Working on maybe getting a Chrome Red PSA 9 but, may be priced out. Also, If I got it, I'd crack it and set it free, haha!

Thanks! Outside of one X-Fractor & Purple Wave, the rest needed are going to be few and far between AND costly... fingers crossed

Hard to crack our a Mint 9 I suppose, but if I’m being honest I would do the same exact thing. Having one in a slab and the rest of them raw would mess with my OCD-like mind haha. It’s unfortunate because I’m sure it will cost more just because it’s graded.

A Tough Parallel, A Common ‘Error,’ and a Very Rare Exotic/International Variation.
First, finally was able to land the X-Fractor /150 off Mercari of all places. You’d think these would pop up more frequently, but they just don’t. Been searching for this one since February…. ![]() Second is a rather well known (in the GPK world) error for 205b Bud Buggy, the Black Dot error. Hint: its on the ‘Peel Here’ arrow… Yeah, an ink smudge… To me, it’s not really an error so much as a print defect that made it through the process for several runs. However, the GPK community has deemed it an error and it sells for a premium so, there you go. ![]() Finally, this is an extremely rare International Variant. A Columbian Bank Note, made some time in the early 90’s. That’s it, that’s all I got… There is no copywriting, dating, or any other legalese so I assume they are bootleg but, apparently they were a thing. I’ll continue to research this one. ![]() ![]() Thanks for looking! The rainbow continues to grow.

That bank note card, whatever it is, is really something. Very nice pickups- I always find errors interesting no matter how small.
This has to be the craziest rainbow I’ve ever seen. I feel like the superfractor basically deserves to be a part of this…would only seem right. Edit: super is down to 5k obo. Half of original asking price of 10k. Still a ton.

Is this guy from 85 or the 70's?

70's? He is from the Original Series 5, released 1986.

I personally think it's a reprint, but I digress....
So, some of the toughest parallels to get for any GPK are the Brazilian Loucomania Bootlegs and the Japanese Bukimi Kun. I personally feel the Brazilian is the tougher of the two, however its a bootleg soooo, does it really count? Anyway, I have only ever been able to find one image of Hot Rod's Loucomania and I really don't think I will ever track one down, especially since they are usually stuck in their binders that came with the "set." That said, over on Reddit there is a talented graphic artist who has been scanning and cataloging the entire OS1-15 run. I reached out to see what could be done about recreating this tough bootleg. We were able to track down enough examples of the backs of these cards to accurately recreate that with the correct number for Rod. Next, with his professional wizardry he was able to recreate to front of the card. Finally, we sourced some of the correct sticker paper that would have been used at the time and from the region. After a few tweeks (mainly purposely making the name on the nameplate off-centered and running downhill, AND cutting the card slightly off-centered as well) he came up with this: ![]() ![]() Unfortunately there is not Japanese Bukimi Kun version BUT, I may enlist the skills of my buddy to create one..... The rainbow continues to grow....

Not a low number or specifically fancy one, but damn if it wasn't tough to track down... Bud Purple Wave:
![]() Now all that remain:

Yeah, wrappers...
Well, GPK folks are big on wrappers. Especially if you have an Original Series set. The better the set, the better you include the original wrappers. Never really understood it BUT, if I could have a 1952 topps wrapper, I would absolutely have one. I digress. While I built my OS1 & 2 sets, I sought out and acquired both versions of those wrappers just to make them whole. So, as the Rod/Bud chase cools, why not just add the easy wrapper pick up. No real meaningful value other than, this is what the original Bud & Rod would have shown up in; ![]() There are two main variants; one with 25 cents and one without. However, each had a version with a Sweatshirt giveaway, OR a T-shirt giveaway. I just wanted the two different fronts. Who knows, as I sit and wait for the low numbers to pop, I may complete this part due to boredom...

Finally able to update. Added the Gold Bud. It still feels weird that the Golds are lower numbered than the Oranges but I digress...
![]() Thanks for looking!

Cool idea to include the sketches…I mean heck it looks like the card.
lol this is craziest rainbow I think I’ve ever seen. In terms of sheer amount of variants and completeness.

I really wish some low numbered chrome, that I am missing, would pop up! However, these sketches are pretty cool. I am finding that I tend to like the sketches that are closer to the original image rather than the artists take on the character. This pick up is totally awesome, great color and pretty dang close to the OG character.
![]() There are a couple I have been watching on the Bay but their asking price is bonkers, $375 & $750... I understand that on that site you can ask whatever you want, I get it. Just wonder why they would assume those particular sketches would command a higher price than previous sales, maybe the artist? Admittedly, I know nothing about the sketch card world.

Love the pick up- that’s a great one.
Your preference for art after the original card makes total sense, since it fits the rainbow concept better. It’s almost like another parallel in a sense. I hear you about sketches and their prices, but this is common in sketches, precisely because they are 1/1s. If they weren’t 1/1s, seller would have to compete with other sellers and bring their prices down or people will just buy the cheaper price one of the same thing. Being a 1/1 none of this happens. Many a time I see sellers holding out for much higher prices than the quality of the art is. Art is subjective, but market values of art are fairly predictable in the sketch card world. You can often tell when a sketch is overpriced.

Not sure if this fits your collection or not, but I'd be happy to give these to you if you want.
They're from the 2020 GPK Beyond the Streets set. ![]() Sent from my SM-G781U using Tapatalk |
