I'm seeing 9 pocket options... https://www.amazon.com/Toploader-Top...dDbGljaz10cnVl Is there something I should know to avoid these and stick with the 4?

So Ultra Pro pages are 4 cards per page, but you can get 9 card per page on other brands with the binder being a big bigger. Anyone have any pics? How many 4 count pages can you get into a 4 inch binder?

Alright, I'm in. Arriving tomorrow. If this is a solution to displaying my HOF collection, I'll be pretty pleased.

I was saying the 4-pocket because that’s what Ultra Pro makes for toploaders. Yes there are larger binders like the one you linked, I’ve never personally tried them, I imagine they are fine. It used to be just the one ‘Toploader Binder’ with the 6 pockets, but lots of different options now for a toploader binder. Main difference with the one you linked and the ultra pro toploader pages is those are fixed pages in a binder, whereas the ultra pro 4-pockets can be interchanged, put in any type of 3 ring binder. That might not matter to you…some like the fixed page portfolio type binders without the bulky rings. Also in that binder, it’s basically a pocket just big enough for a toploader. Whereas the ultra pro ones it’s a topoader loose in a large pocket (although they don’t really move around). The presentation is different because of this.

Totally worth putting it into 9 card pages!
Here is a sample from my 1997 Flair Showcase Row 0 baseball set I completed a couple years ago! All in 9 card pages to enjoy! ![]() ![]() ![]()

I've always had the majority of my collection in binders.....that's one of the reasons why I generally avoid buying graded cards.
Currently at 43 binders.... Also have two footlockers fill with cards that don't fit in sheets (i.e. extra thick cards), my wax collection, and other odd-sized stuff |

Considering getting some of the 4 pocket top loader pages now. Does anyone have a good binder recommendation? And when storing them upright on the shelf do the pages sag?

I put my graded cards in binders too…BCW pages and I fold the plastic sleeve over the front for the bottom 2 cards and over the back for the top cards to hold them into place. Works like a charm and it’s just a standard 3 ring binder from Walmart/Target, etc. I’d say 10 pages or 40 graded per binder as it gets heavy. [IMG] [/IMG]

I’ll have to post an update pic. Had to remove all the display cards to make room for more binders. The black ones are topps base sets. Every year complete from 65 thru 2022. I have 59 and 60 as well. Currently working on 63.
The pink are my wife’s ginter sets. 2006 thru 2022 complete master sets. After next year I’ll be out of space on the shelves so not sure what I’ll do then. If anyone has a particular card they want to see from any of those years I’d be happy to snap a pic. I love showing them off. Last edited by rega311; 04-05-2023 at 09:46 PM. |

Love those pages of shiny 90s cards.
I almost want to put together a whole binder of 90s inserts. Epixs, Z-teams, Museum collections, flair showcase, refractors, gold medallions. Many can still be found cheap in baseball if not the main names like Griffey…it would basically be a binder of awesomeness. Would look good in the 9-block sheets.

I think I got the one I linked to. $45. I love the idea of no rings, and no buying individual pages. It’s supposed to get here tomorrow and I’ll immediately jump in.

This is the 4-pocket Ultra Pro top loader page (sorry for it not being baseball, I collect marvel).
![]() It’s basically a 4-pocket ultra pro page with one small addition, the flap over top and bottom row so the toploaders don’t fall out. The pages are a little smaller than standard 9-pocket pages but still fit in a 3-ring binder. Notice the extra space in each pocket. The toploaders don’t really move around when flipping the pages though (which would be a dealbreaker). As for binders, I just use the regular office binders since they are view-binders (you can customize the covers and spines by inserting graphics). ![]() Each binder is a self-contained master set, which is a bigger concept in non-sports than sports. In addition to the set in pages, stuff like pack wrappers ![]() Magazine articles from the set contemporary to the time (in 8.5x11 sheet protectors), I enjoy this historical stuff. ![]() As well as promos etc. I realize promos aren’t nearly as collected in sports. Problem with binders is they take up so much space. And they get bulky for those 800 card sets. Luckily in nonsports the sets are smaller. Someone mentioned warping...I think if you have the binder in standard environmental conditions, typical D-ring binders, non-PVC pages (which most are now), filled adequately, it should be fine. It's not a bad idea, even if you dont flip through the binders regularly, to check once in a blue moon how the pages and cards are holding up, to gauge long-term effects. Dont forget cards can also warp in long boxes just the same (bowing, see any vintage topps set in a longbox). For me it's actually easier to slide a card into a binder pocket vs into a sleeve, as in less chance of damaging a card- very easy with the 'lift-pocket and slide in motion' as long as not being hasty...so acute damage is less of an issue for me with binder pages.

I love binders for my low end PC stuff. My favorite are Unikeep binders since they are completely enclosed. You can stack them more easily or display upright on a bookshelf.
