2022-23 Topps UEFA First Edition

I'd still take a couple boxes, but I'd prefer to get them from Topps US! Pretty ridiculous to add them to Topps US with no prior announcement. I paid more on Topps UK and will get them much later.

I hear the negativity on this, but you have to remember how popular 1st edition was a year ago. I made a net of over $600 after fees on 1 box purchased for $350 last year, so a very healthy profit without any single going for over $40. I made a net of $425 from the sale of 129 base singles from the 1 box, so easily made my money back from base cards alone. And I kept my favorite hit from the box, a low numbered Pulisic.

Yes the market was in a different place than it is now, but this was a very popular product and I think will be this year as well. I'm not expecting the same results but would still expect enough interest in this product to justify the price. I just hope they don't mess with the parallel format too much.

I went for 2 boxes. I've always done well with boxes shipped directly from Topps so we will see if the streak continues

Topps UK let me cancel my order from there. I'm still debating whether to get some from the US site now. But the lack of auto odds or even the parallel format is increasingly concerning. These also have 2 numbered parallels on avg vs. 3 last year. If they've blown up the parallels and printed this to the moon, it does become much less attractive.

Someone got their boxes today and they were getting 4 numbered cards per box with an auto in every 4 boxes. Seems to be better than what was advertised.

Got my boxes in this morning, made in Italy again. Odds are:

Purple /30 1:18
Orange /25 1:22
Black /10 1:54
Red /5 1:106
foilfractor /1 1:524

gives ~3.2 parallels a box

autos
base 1:173
gold 1:231
orange 1:346
red 1:1141
foilfractor 1:5075

so an auto 1 in 3 boxes

Cards actually look better than I expected with more colour in the background than recent years, bodes well for chrome in they do the same there. Best hit in my 2 boxes was a Garnacho /30

Always exciting to see ‘lower tier clubs’ have a presence in the hobby. Curious if they make an appearance in Chrome. Who’s the chase here? Roony Bardghji? Muani, the juve rookie, and Liga NOS guys seem appealing too. Don’t crucify me for calling your team lower tier ��

If that math is correct, and I have no reason to doubt it, they only made about 375-400 cases of this, that’s a nice limited release. Also gives you a 1:20/25 box chance of hitting a base 1/1, so every other “case” lol.

Personally, I enjoyed ripping this quite a lot. Nice, clean design and I hit a Gakpo to 10, McNeil to /25, Kameri to /30, Bardghji Auto to /75.
