Can’t we say the same thing about the Astros then?

Astros in 4 without breaking a sweat and the Aaron Judge era ends in NY

You think he was just making an excuse for his game 1 performance against the Mariners?

Here's part of an article where I saw it.

Verlander said following the Astros’ win over the Mariners on Oct. 11 at Minute Maid Park that he identified some adjustments that needed to be made. Since a brief stint on the injured list in late August/early September with a calf injury, he’s fought his mechanics, but had still pitched well. Verlander knows his body so well that small tweaks on the lower half of his body can lead to a big change in results

I'm very thankful that it wasn't a major injury and I don't think it was a big issue, but it did probably create a little bit of mechanical issues,” Verlander said. “I've been working on that ever since I came back. I've been working really hard. I think hopefully after the last one, I really think I identified some stuff that was kind of the key component. It's just kind of deep mechanical stuff that I really probably shouldn't really go too far into. It's just we don't need to go that deep into the woods.”

The one wildcard is that Cabrera's a bad matchup against Verlander. Cabrera's got a hole in his swing w/ high fastballs, and that's where Verlander butters his bread. If Stanton is a real option in LF, then it would make sense to just have Cabrera off the bench as a pinch-hit/defensive replacement option.

His stuff looked good. When you're getting 98 up in the zone hit, I think it's tough to lay blame on the calf when he's been so great since his return.

I meant to type Astros in 5 to give credit to Cole in Game 3. But I’ll ride with the sweep. This is gonna be easier than the last 3 times the Astros sent these guys packin

Astros + Yankees. Flip a coin. Should be freaking wild. Was hoping we would get to see this match up in the post season. LFG.

Hope it's a good series and that Altuve's bat wakes up.

Someone needs to buzz, I mean shock, I mean shake, Altuve out of his slump.

Judge can't afford to struggle like what he did in the ALDS again....

Can't wait to find out what new method of cheating the Astros used to steal this series in five years.

My honest prediction is HOU in 6

If Joe Maddon was managing Houston, I'm sure he would have claimed Verlander was tipping his pitches that game. That's his favorite excuse for Ohtani constantly being beaten by the Yankees.

Would be shocked if this series doesn't become at least a heart attack inducing 6 games if not 7. Thankfully, I don't have to watch Chapman pitch in Houston anymore
Even before the Hicks injury, the story was Boone was going to play Stanton in LF in Houston since it is a smaller left field than Yankee Stadium and DH Carpenter.

Did they set the roster yet with Hicks out? My guess is Peraza will be on the ALCS roster and that gives Boone the option of him or Cabrera at SS instead of error-prone IKF. Too bad because his bat is definitely better than Peraza and probably better than Cabrera.

Won't be a surprise if you read the Yankees thread. Most of us expected this matchup and most of us expected to lose after the regular season games. The thing that gives me hope now is Verlander looked bad last series and the Phillies and Padres who lost regular season series against playoff teams have beaten them to move on.

Should be a good series. Hope the Astros win but wouldn't be shocked if the Yankees do. I do think Houston is the better team but playoff baseball is a different animal.

Why anyone pimps this disproven theory is mind bottling.
It just makes you look even more ignorant than most already believe you to be.
By all means, keep it up.

Even tho Altuve didn’t cheat, the rest of the team did and I don’t mind taking #@#@#@#@ from other fans because of it. But it’s just ridiculous when Yankees fans do it because the Yankees are a buncha dirty cheaters too. It makes them look like such crybabies and especially when they talk about 2019. And all they had to do was hit 1 curveball out of 24 in a row from McCullers and they coulda been bragging instead of CRYING for all these years
