Could he have been had a fluke season and really is Cito Culver 2.0 all along.
Not only did he look fooled by strong breaking stuff, he was also really struggling with fastballs up in the zone. I don't know that a demotion is the answer though. He'll likely just take and I'm not so sure it's a confidence thing. He's just facing the best pitchers he's ever faced.

Nice! 1-4 today, but still raises his average. I’m curious if his injury from last year has any affect on him right now?

Read an article today from an A’s site talking with one of their scouting guys that he has a thumb contusion that’s been affecting him. Also provided some insight that he’s been getting into his own head a bit after poor at bats

Yeah 80 seems to be the magical number for prospects these days, I'd like to see 90-100 or at least 6 innings.

Your obsession for negativity is just bizarre. You were so excited to come here and post the 0-5...it's just sad.

And I'm not invested in the guy -but he's a phenomenal kid, and thus I'm rooting for him.

Gotta be a realist sometime in life, as one observer said he flat out can’t hit in AA.

Honest to God…I was thinking the same thing. In all my years on here all I’ve seen from that guy is injury and underperforming posts.

To me it seems like he is just stating what is happening. It isn't like he is k13 or whatever in the basketball forum. He did not just stay he was going 0-5. He added context and substance. It needs to be out there. It ain't just rainbows and unicorns like you want it to be.

Agreed.

I find all prospect updates interesting, good or bad. Especially on a top guy like Volpe.
