I would not do this. You are wasting your money away. This card would grade an 8 95% of the time even at PSA.

If you got a PSA 9 for that card you'd be extremely lucky, but if you want to waste your money and have your card in transit for awhile go ahead.
They just want to get their digs in to make themselves feel better. I generally feel sorry for the people who come to this board for actual advice and are forced to wade through all the BS.

I like the way the holders look but what’s the main draw to CSG currently if they grade very hard ? Doesn’t seem like much of a premium over raw and they’re not cheap by any means ?

22$ for a 126 business day turnaround
37$ for a 67 business day turnaround
75$ for a 46 business day turnaround

My reasoning is that you get a great quality, very clear slab for cheaper than any other grading company. I’m seeing sales on CSG go up as more use them. As collectors realize the quality of a 9 and 9.5 of a CSG slab, the prices will further increase and get closer to PSA IMHO. Will they ever reach them? Who knows what the future holds.

How is this centering a 10? The bball is actually touching the top of the card.

He believes this is an absolute PSA 10 because PSA grades easier than CSG. So do it. You'll make more profit . If you truly believe its possible to get instant PSA 10s on CSG cards, I implore you to do it.

Or better yet. If you really want to sell that idea, Ill wager and pay for the PSA sub ($150) if it comes back as a psa 10. But if it doesnt, you give me the slabbed card and cover the cost of the grading!!??

Every grading company grades are subjective on cards. But dont sit here and tell me CSG is on a premier level above all other grading companies based on a single card and a few graded cards. New narrative to get people to hype CSG slabs coming back to churn profit.

I am by no means hyping CSG…just stating what I’ve been seeing. I have over 1,000 graded cards in my collection and can count on two hands how many I’ve sold. I grade with the sole purpose of protecting my cards…and if I can do it cheaper with CSG, great for me! And if I need extra cash for something I need or want, it’s always nice to have some cards you can easily move for said cash.
I have 5 kids and College just hit for my oldest…my youngest is 3 years old so I have lots of years to fork out a ton of money lol.

The card you graded will sell first off. It will sell because of the quality of the card more so than the grade and slab. I really think people are forgetting about the card itself in the slab and focussing on the overall grade and who graded it. A testament to the saying "buy the card, not the slab/grade". We need to get back to the basics. Its about the card more so than the slab

Too many hypotheticals. All we know is that PSA is far and away the best place to sub to if centering is the focal issue with the card. They've historically been (in some posted cases, EXTREMELY) lax with centering 'standards.'

Could they have tightened up a lot over the course of the past year? Absolutely. But past results do not guarantee future performance. When/if they re-open their lower tier, they're going to be once again bombarded with submissions, so there's no guarantee the heightened grader scrutiny will sustain.

My mistake. The connection is actually Blackstone and all the investors they represent.... should have said that the same investors behind Fanatics are also behind CSG. Wasn't aware that the owner of Fanatics also had a stake in CSG.

March 25, 2021:
Sports merchandise retailer Fanatics raised another $320 million from existing investors, bringing its valuation to $12.8 billion. Leading the latest funding round were Silver Lake together with Fidelity, Neuberger Berman, Franklin Templeton, Thrive Capital, Blackstone and Major League Baseball, according to sources close to the deal.

July 1st, 2021:
Blackstone’s Tactical Opportunities business is acquiring a majority stake in Certified Collectibles Group, which operates Certified Sports Guaranty (CSG), a division that opened earlier this year. The transaction values CCG at more than $500 million.
