He’ll be the next great lefty QB.

Has there been another besides Young?

None that I can think of.

Ken Stabler
Boomer Esiason
Steve Young

It’s a short list. Vick was left handed but couldn’t throw for crap when he needed to.

Vick was the first guy I thought of. He obviously was pretty inaccurate, but imagine what he could've done with an offense tailored to his running ability - like Lamar?

They kind of did with Dunn and Duckett and Vick. They had to as they knew he couldn’t throw for crap.

Dolphins over exceeded expectations because the defense always seemed to get out to a lead early last year. I think they compete for a playoff spot. Now on to Tua. Everyone who wants to label him a bust after 1 season is crazy. Wasn’t fully healthy and his top wide out besides Parker was Mack Hollins and Jakeem “Stone Hands” Grant. I can’t say I’m completely sold or he’s the next big thing but I did see flashes. I go back to the Cardinals game where he played his best game IMO. Quick strikes, bootlegs, back shoulder fades, and extending the play. Great game. As a Dolphins fan I can’t wait to see what he can do with some actual weapons and a healthy hip.

If there’s one thing that’ll fix the playbook, it’s having two OCs.

I think the Dolphins will compete for a playoff spot, not sure if they’ll get it. I think the Bills are about to dominate the AFC East for at least the next few years.

So are you buying? I can’t I’ve spent much, but I’ve bought a few cards just in case you’re right. Not super confident though.

Two playbooks will open things up a lot

The playbook doesn’t need opening up. They attacked downfield whenever Fitzmagic was in the game and it worked out quite well. The playbook was closed for Tua because the coaching staff knew his downfield arm strength was severely limited

No by two (second year) he will be through (done) and someone will be replacing him.

Sorry for the confusion but not "through" to sustained glory in the league.

Auto? All of Tua’s auto cards are still way overpriced in my mind.

Kind of a weird stat but he became one of only a few QB's to lead the position in both passing yards and rushing yards in a single season in 1996.

Hadn't happened since like Tobin Rote in the '50s and hasn't happened since (which is a little surprising given the quality of rushing QB's recently).

The whole timing of throwing him into the fray last year was quite possibly one of the worst decisions made by a front office/coaching staff I've ever seen.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Jacoby take over at some point this season.

Loving what I’m seeing so far from Tua this year. The O-Line has been great too, which is really what the Dolphins season will hinge on.

O-line improvement is great. It's like Collinsworth said the other night, Tua gets the ball out so fast that it's hard to get to him. He took one sack against NE and none against LA. Denver's pass rush this week isn't scaring anyone. That game could get ugly.

I like that against NE they didn't force it and kept the game balanced. Mostert had the hot hand so they let him roll. That may be the case against Denver as well.

Yup. Great play-calling. It was adaptable. You want to double team Reek and keep Waddle locked up? Okay, we’ll just run the ball down your throat. Works for me.

When he takes a monster hit and doesn't miss multiple weeks, I'll believe.

Until then, rooting for him - but always worried.
