I was being cryptic for no real reason. Yes, red & white label was referring to PSA label.

If you look on the front page of this thread, you'll see a 2019 Sapphire Haaland card graded by PSA. He'd stated it was a 2021 card. My reply was once PSA labeled it a 2019 card(Topps does too by the way), that it is a 2019 card. Really feel like I'm over explaining or you guys are messing with me.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s rookie is his 2002 card from sporting lisbon, not the Upper Deck manchester united 2003 card, the lesser league never mattered there.

The same can be said about for a lot of other players

It won’t matter “much”.

The true collectors with the deepest pockets will want the one that came first and over a year earlier.

Plus, the scene is far superior.

I remember the same happening for ronaldo, but it was short lived, in the end the sporting card took over.

My point can be made using basketball. Flawless came out in Dec(2020). Eminence in Jan(2021). All PSA labels will say 2019 Flawless, 2019 Eminence.

So my larger point is, the Sapphire, Bund, Finest and Now...will all be labeled as 2019. I think that'll make a lot of difference going foward.

Yeah, I was mostly alluding to how the Lebron metaphor kind of breaks down because there's only one premier basketball league. A better illustration of that is Luka, who played professionally before the NBA and has cards from those teams but his most valuable rookie cards are obviously with the Mavs.

But yeah, I agree that like CR7 people usually look to the first team, even if it's relatively unknown. The market is a bit different now - with all these product lines fighting tooth and nail for the RC label - so it'll be interesting to see what the hobby rallies around.

Nah, man take a look at that. That Haaland is the lighter print. The darker print is black. That sticker in the video is grey. The second print came out a lot darker than that. I opened a few of the first boxes and took out 3 Haaland. I then ordered directly from Panini later on and got the darker print.

Not many knows, that Champions league will change its format in 2023.
THere will be 8 teams groups it will mean not 6 games in group stage, but 14. (CL games also on weekends). Playoff will be the same as now. This simply gives Haland another 8 CL matches each year to improve his scoring record. At least 4 of those added 8 games will be against weaker teams.
At the end of his career he will surpass Messi and Ronaldo in CL goals scored.

I was under the impression that all Topps Chrome sets including Sapphire were severely delayed in 2020 due to Covid. Not sure exactly what step in the production cycle but it definitely effected it. I do believe the Topps Now card will have a niche following for super collectors but the go to card will be the Topps Chrome Sapphire card. There is brand legacy, it was widely released and it's Sapphire. You can thank MLB's Acuna and Tatis Jr. for that. I understand certain collectors will hold the Topps Now card in high regard but there isn't one player in any sport that a "Now" card is #1. Haaland wont change that. Another significant reason it wont is that the print run actually goes against it. There just aren't enough to change hands consistently.
