I think this idea is genius. We can make hitters bat with a hockey stick, and then hop from base to base in a potato sack. Defensive players should also be able to hit basesackracers with the ball to get them out. We can call it all "the worst idea in the history of ideas - ball".

Nope to that, back in high school we shared our practice field with the golf team. We found a golf ball on the field one day.

One of our power hitters tossed it up and took a swing. Dang thing took off like a rocket and knocked the window out of the shop teacher's truck about 800' away. It sailed almost perfectly level, unreal line drive.

If Mike Trout had to hit into a shift all the time, his numbers would take quite a hit.
The ball thing is definitely a terrible idea, and so is banning the shift.

We want to put a rule in the game that requires fielders to stand in a certain spot?

Most sports (I think) have a penalty for illegal defense. I don't have a problem with MLB adopting the rule. Baseball fans treat the sport like it's a sacred entity that should never be changed. I don't see a "shift" rule ruining the game as we know it.

Not in a certain spot. But only allowing 2 infielders on either side of second base isn't unreasonable. Neither would requiring them to be on the infield dirt, IMO.

The Twins are definitely ready to play this more interesting game.

I like the idea of a big ball and a 5th base sounds wonderful too but I think allowing balks would be better.

Then the pitchers can skye out the batters and base runners.

I think adding a 2nd pitcher on the mound would be a great idea too. 2 pitches at once would cut the pace of the game in half.

how about some poles in the outfield to make it more challenging for outfielders.

I can remember playing softball in high school and someone would yell pole while outfielders were chasing a fly ball, and they would stop.

what about a beach ball, and you have to kick it. I remember that game in gym class.
