Jersey and color match is sweet. I am 2 cards short of having all the blue of JJJ. REDS for Herro would be the way to go.

The jersey match thing has gotten pretty big recently and its one one way to put one of the colored parallels a level above the multiple offered. Obviously if they're numbered that's gonna usually play the biggest role but ive even seen instances where the matching blue /99 goes for more than the purple /49..

Anesthetics is definitely a part of all of it, so it makes sense generally speaking

I missed out an Elite /99 blue Luka psa 9 for $700, whoever got that one got a steal

Status looks amazing in hand. And the numbered parallels plus Pursuits are tough to come by and still affordable in comparison to basically every other set out there.

I have a numbered gold of Sexton /10 and that looks nice. I would not make Status one of my top choices but it looks ok.

Best part is I did not pay more than $150 raw for any, the red, and I think that was not an 8 grade. Might re-sub that one.

Paid less than $50 for almost every one of my Blues, Reds and Purples. Last two I bought were Elite Red for $68 and Phoenix Red for $155. After that I stopped because the prices took off. Phoenix got a 10 and the Elite is still at PSA with most of the rest. Still mad at a few I passed on when I had chances to get them relatively cheap - ie. Crusade and Phoenix Blues.

It might just be me, but the greens #/25 are sneaky cool. Still technically a jersey color (though it's an accent) and even more SP. Might be able to find a PSA 8 or 9 for under $2k.

Otherwise any of the colored parallels of the chrome cards are all pretty great. Look for reds #/149 or pinks #/75 in Crusade, Phoenix, Optichrome, and Obsidian (though the red is actually orange) - all should be less than blues.

I think the Chronicles Vanguard with the white background #/99 is a pretty nice-looking card.

Love the titanium (all of the thick paper cards, really) and the color parallel obsidian preview cards, but not sure they are sub-$2k at this point. I also think the chronicles on-card Luka autographed cards are awesome, but they’re also not sub-$2k cards.

I think the 2018 chronicles offering is generally awesome...if Luka and/or anyone in this class becomes great down the line, this set/product just has so much potential...

edit: actually the base offering, non-chronicles obsidian is also a luka card with some nice potential...again, not sure if it’s priced under $2k? maybe an ungraded copy?

I have become a fan of Luka so I’m planning on holding for a long time, unless price shoots up to a point where I have to sell.

I'd recommend buying 2x $1,000 Luka autos. Keep one for 25+ years, sell the other if price spikes astronomically down the road. I'd recommend either the 2018/19 Certified "Potential" or "Rookie Roll Call" on card auto. (Both feature the unquestionable signature style identical to the Next Day auto, plus Doncic might never sign for Panini again)

I will look into it. I’ve never thought about autos so I’ll have to see what I can do to bend the budget. Thanks for everyone’s help so far

Autos have much better long term value than base cards for Doncic. Main driving force will be shrinking supply over time if he never signs again.

I think the bronze version of several, not the /5 ones, are sweet looking in the shiny versions. Red is also becoming a favorite. I believe all versions of essentials are sweet. Blue, bronze, green and red.
