Panini no longer accepting expired redemptions - Page 2

I just saw the announcement and found I have 5 redemptions I spent close to $400 on with expiration dates of TODAY!!!

WENT TO POST THEM AND THIS SHOWED UP!!!

Just a tiny bit sick

Just trying to trade or sell last second. I do that with most of my redemptions.

Thanks. Hopefully I can get it figured out. I'm emailing a couple people at panini in hopes of figuring it out, especially since there's no associated time with WHEN the redemption needs to be keyed in

Gosh, thinking about the ramifications if for some reason Zion is a redemption in National Treasures this year. Group breakers will be burning through cases and it would certainly reduce the desire to stash boxes or cases long term.

Email them with that screenshot and scans of your redemptions. The time stamp on your email will show when you tried to redeem them.

Even if they get stupid about it and say they technically expired, it’s worth a shot.

I messaged 2 reps via email, and their support email. I included 5 video clips. Each from the individual redemptions that show the keyed in code, redemption and time on computer screen, plus me pressing redeem and the error showing up.

I also called and tweeted at Panini with the same info (not the videos, but an explanation on twitter)

I'm covered as best as I can be.

Thanks for the advice!!!

Anything in the system already is safe, even if entered when expired, but most likely will end up as points

Bingo, although I don’t have issues with unaltered fairly graded cards. The I didn’t pull a black label out of a wax pack so I’m sending it in is ridiculous. Since this has become bigger I’ve seen more complaints of slow turn arounds for redemptions, go figure.

First - Panini gives us Digital Blockchain then they tell us not to buy old products since were not honoring old redemptions instead pay for our digital cards and pay us for the ridiculous price of our current product. Good job Panini...I wonder what’s next???

Every long term redemption not being filled will end up being given Panini points. Panini will decide to put a few worthless cards that no one wants on the rewards once every 2-3 months.

Ive always wanted points cards to go away, instead you get a redemption with the choice of the card or points for it. Would never happen but I think it would be nicer.

Yep totally agree with this. The company is just doing whatever the hell they want and its because “some of us” buyers keep being the fools paying $8k for a box of cardboard.

This is just ridiculous. Panini's customer service is outstandingly horrible.
However I do agree with what was mentioned in some of the comments above, it is our fault as clients for not holding them more accountable.

Daaamn, the value of a lot 17-18 Wax just plummeted. Think of all those Tatum and Mitchell NT redemptions.

I can see it now 2019-20 Panini Honors Basketball featuring Tatum & Mitchell RPAs from a half dozen products and of course a buffet of autos from KOOOBEEE!!! Throw in some reprinted Luka/Zion Silvers and Holos and this will be the hottest release of the year.

I'm looking at their website and can't seem to find anywhere to redeem cards that aren't expired now. The whole redemption site seems to be gone when I look for it.

Edit: Nevermind found where to do it, still don't see a place to view status of my already redeemed cards though.

Bumping this thread because I don't think this community realizes the impact this has on long term case / box investors ( I am not one ). This is legit lawyer worthy. Blowout themselves should be reaching out to people who are box / case investors and suing Panini. All the old(ish) items in the store just took a hit, and BO should sticky this and be pissed.

Case/box investment shouldn’t be a thing. You can collect them but holding them sealed up just to resell for a profit later is not part of the hobby. I mean the redemption has an expiration for a reason. Upper deck And topps both had tons of redemption including Jordan and they never honored expired redemption

I totally agree. I believe in their rights to do that, but I aint gonna feel sad for them right now at all.

There's already a current lawsuit, dealing specifically with Panini redemptions. Maybe Panini forgot about the lawsuit, as this recent policy change likely will be added to the case.

Here's an interview with of one of the lawyers involved.
