I made this thread.. never intended for it to be his thread. I fully support this being the Gleyber thread going forward

I sold some really nice Gleyber things just before he went off against the Os ... I think he is good, but he is very inconsistent, I think once judge is back he will just be overshadowed long term.. could be wrong but I just don't see long term relevance in him.

That mini 1/1 glossy looks good in a PSA holder! The only mini I ever had graded looked good too. I might need to consider adding a few to the collection.

680 career AB’s .. 276avg 40hr 117rbi not to bad and not too inconsistent imo.. I’ll take it

You have to remember Gleyber is 22 and Judge is 27... yes this is Judges team right now, I totally agree. But Gleyber has more years ahead of him barring injury, etc... and should continue to get better and better until he reaches his prime in about 5 more years when Judge will be nearing the end of his at around 32... but who really knows.... It’s sort of like Trout overshadowing Ohtani, or Betts overshadowing some of Boston’s young talent... it’s going to happen.

I’m a Yankee fan so I’m rooting for them all to do well, and the two I mostly collect currently are Judge and Gleyber...and then Sanchez a bit...

Is this were these '18 Update Gold's are now headed? Highest Ive seen before today was $35-$40 (maybe). But $102+?

Thats what I was thinking. Seems odd to me. Im all for it, if its straight up and holds...but you can get Acuna's and Soto's for less than that.

What's everyones preferred Gleyber RC? Most people like the heritage a lot but I've never been a big fan of it, although the action SP is really cool. Not the biggest fan of the Series 2 SP or rookie debut either due to them being horizontal and having two other people in the series 2 card. I'm not huge on the all star game logo being present in one of his TU rookies either

For me, it's a toss up between TC 34 and TU 200 and its TCU equivalent. I lean towards TC 34 since Gleyber's swing looks incredibly nice and the card is entirely focused on him, rather than TU 200 being more zoomed out of him on the basepaths. TU 200 still looks pretty darn nice though.

If only I had the budget to PC Gleyber..

This always cracks me up. There are two BINs available right now for half that--that look just as good. I don't get it.

The Topps Chrome Sapphire, then the Heritage Action will be his 2 best I think followed by the S2 SP.

I don't think the Updates (TU and TCU) will be because they just were so many in the set that the casual fan can't identify which one is the main one. Too many options that people will look to other sets like Heritage and Topps Chrome.

Looks like two more are ending via ebay auction on Sunday night. Should be interesting to see what happens with these. I was watching the one that ended over $100 as well and I had thoughts on this being an attempt to drive up the price. Even if that sale is an attempt to drive up the price, I think it probably works. Enough people will be happy to get this card for $50-75 now instead of $100 that are unaware of the potential shill bidding or price manipulation. I think you're right. This card in gold is one of my favorites in the set. We could see a bump to the 50-75 range and not many would think much of it. I just pulled the AS the other day--I was super pumped to see Gleyber in gold then....AHHH...the AS... Still a decent card--and an easy gem!

This is exactly the reason why I don't think the US200 will ever be considered his top RC's. Just too much confusion for him in that set.
