Default 1985-86 Star NBA cards that never were

Got another three. 1972 Topps George Gervin Virginia Squires. 87-88 or 88-88 Fleer Kevin Johnson in Cavs Jersey. So Bird was drafted in 1978 draft. He could have had a 79-80 Topps RC that kind of looked like the 89-90 Hoops Robinson (holding a jersey) Click image for larger version

I don’t suppose there is any way you can create a 1986 Donruss Rookies, Fleer Update or Topps Traded Kevin Seitzer? That would be incredible.

Probably an odd request but would a 1957-58 Topps Bevo Francis be doable? He was drafted by the Philadelphia Warriors but never ended up playing in NBA. That would've been his second season as he was drafted in '56.

For those wondering who I'm talking about, it's the guy who averaged 50+ in NCAA in the early 50's, and had the single game scoring record (over 100 points) until 2012 when some d3 kid broke it. There was an ESPN Sportscentury bio on him, used to be on ESPN Classic all the time.. Can't find on YouTube sadly.

I absolutely love your work. Would you be able to please make Ewing and Mullin on the olympic team cards just like the 1984-85 Star Jordan Olympic #195?

Oh, and while you already have 1985-86 Star customs, a 1985-86 Star Spud Webb, Xavier McDaniel and A.C. Green would be cool!

According to PSA and SGC no Star card can be considered legitimate. And from what we're seeing from Beckett lately I believe I'll side with PSA and SGC.

But we do know those cards actually were produced from 84 to 86 and were an officially licensed product.

No argument there, but is there really a way to tell fakes from the real ones? I mean Beckett can't do it well either. There is a fake in a BGS slab on auction with PWCC right now.

Which card and how do you know it’s fake?

The story goes that Beckett has an expert who worked for Star that can weed out the counterfeits. Who knows if it’s true.

Steve Taft was an original dealer. He trained BGS to authenticate star. He did not work for Star.

It's called a type II and they are easy to spot. I'm sure beckett has a supposed expert, but the problem is the supposed expert doesn't grade all of the star cards for them, probably why these mistakes happen. The type II is pretty easy to spot, and correction it's with probstein not PWCC.

I wouldn’t touch the Jordan subsets with a ten foot pole. I really don’t like any of the subsets, just the base cards.

The problem with Beckett isn't them holdering fake Stars it's them holdering trimmed Stars. The amount of skinny Stars in BGS slabs is getting kind of ridiculous.

This card doesn't really make any sense, but I felt like it anyway - I really like the 1979 set.

Man that Reggie Lewis and KJ are sweet!

Since you're bending the rules, give us a 89/90 Fleer Drazen Petrovic!
