Maybe Im going crazy but I remember reading about some unique names some years back and Abcde was definitely mentioned. I think Algae also made an appearance. I wish I would have saved that.

I thought it was pronounced ab-see-dee. Close enough.
You're thinking of ledasha. Mom wanted to name her daughter le-a but wrote dash instead of -

I think they keep them on the Fridge. Man-tel sounds to masculine.

As for crazy names. My wife is an elementary teacher her second year teaching was in a under privileged school. I wish we still had the list of kids names I took it to work and no one believed it was real. The only name that was pronounceable was Billy Joe.

The best that year was a kid named Your Majesty. My wife refused to call a large portion of the kids by the first names and called them Mr. Jones and Miss Smith. Prince was common I also liked Ikea that year.

At this point, I know there are a lot of stupid people out there and nothing would surprise me or blow my mind.

Is it just the United States with the stupid names? Do other countries have this problem/issue? No wonder other countries hate us.

Sorry. I work in healthcare. You cannot “blow my mind” with names. During my training, an underserved area had pamphlets about STD’s. An expectant mother said “Gone-or-rhea”, that sounds pretty!!!

This last weekend, a colleague of mine was called stupid because they tried to verify the spelling of some stupid name. “Vytreais” was the name. The “parent” responded to the request to spell the name with “just how it sounds.” Of course in healthcare, VITREOUS is a type of fluid in the eye and definitely not spelled Vytreais

I used to drive a neonatal unit and pick up sick newborns, some of the names just made me shake my head. I used to love when my nurse would try and get them to change the name, The funniest was one of the newborns was actually named vagina, my nurse was like is that the babies name are you sure you didn't mean Virginia and they said nope she was sure. I would like all these kids whose parents gave them a screwed up name to write a book that tells of the challenges it brought about throughout their lives.

The subtitle of the book would be: “My parent(s) is/are (an) effing moron(s).”

I would like to know the breakdown location-wise of stupid names. Would Florida be the clubhouse leader?

Parents who name their kids stupid things do it to get attention.
