All amazing pickups, even if I am replying to some of them a year later. I recently picked up a Shaq SP holoview die cut but it arrived trimmed so need to get another (come on man who trims a $15 dollar card?)

Beautiful card. Nice photo, too. The colors on the refractor finish really pop.

Damn, really? Are you sure it's not just offcentered? Those can be tough since the upper die cut portions are often unequal. That's wild if it's actually trimmed, lol.

Thanks guys, it's pretty awesome in hand. I always knew the player was embossed but was unsure whether or not the star outline was. Can confirm it is, really gives the ref finish an extra pop.

Funnily enough this was actually Josh / Cardboard Chronicle's copy, he told me shortly after I posted it to IG. Small Penny world.

The M from TM on the bottom right corner was cut off but the left side looked trimmed as well to balance out the die cut at the top (unless it did come out the factory that way). The picture wasn't great but the corners looked sharp so I'll need to be more vigilant in future and stay off ebay at 3am when I've only got one eye open lol.

Excellent pickups! I'd reslab that Embossed Refractor just so you don't potentially cut yourself on that sharp edge. As someone who has liberated a few cards from BGS cases in the past I know those cracked edges can be razor sharp.

One of the better cards in the whole set, congratulations!!! Can't believe I haven't posted in this thread until now. You should just crack out the card and put it in a magnetic.

Lol, yea, late night ebaying... Ebay loves it. I'm curious to see a picture of it.

Never considered the potential for shedding blood. I'll prob reslab it at some point down the line though.

In all honesty I'd trade the grade for non-greened version. Very jealous of pennyatthepoint's copy, perfect color.

And here's my latest "big" pickup. Always been a huge fan of these, the double-sided refractor finish just puts this over the top as one of the better 90s inserts imo. Gawgeous.
I have another card on the way that has been in my top 5 Penny wants for some time now. See you then, and god bless.

Any card that features photography including his signature shoes is a winner. Except 97/98 Fleer NOT Ultra.

And here she is, Penny's very first refractor.
I finally gave in and stopped hunting for a non-slimed version.

Beautiful card. New here, just posted in the welcome forum. Just started collecting again and Penny is one of the guys I will be going after. The rookie refractor is obviously high on my list of cards to acquire.

I was curious about the “non slimed” comment. Are you referring to the greening discoloring? When I’m looking for one,is this something I should just accept as common?

Oh wow, this card is an iconic, fundamentally critical card in any Penny collection. That right there is a crowning jewel and milestone piece if you ask me. As a non Penny/Webber collector, those are cards I'd like to add at some point in the future. You just hit me with a nostalgia upper cut, I remember way back as a kid, me and all the other kids would always talk about some day owning these cards, same with the following year's Finest refractor rookies. It REALLY sucks that these are pretty much all discolored, but we can't really do anything about it. HUGE addition, major congratulations are in order.

Maybe our boy Roland Handjobbo can figure out a way to restore the color properly?

Welcome to the forums. Each person here seems more knowledgeable than the next. When I got back into the hobby 5 years ago, this place was quite the "refresher." Unfortunately the greening on these is extremely common. I have seen better examples, but the one I bought is certainly not one of them. I can't remember the last time I've seen one completely unaffected.

Rofl, if Handjobbo could un-green Finest cards, his "business" would pick up to the point where he could quit his day job.
Right there with you on the uppercut, all the RC refs from this set are ingrained in my mind. So classic.
And that is one nice gif. Ewing was my man so it's a little bittersweet

Thanks for the words slum, I've definitely been trying to improve my collection lately. Been too long.

Just in, another card/set I've always admired and was really happy to grab. Love the colored acetate, first time seeing one in hand.

Congrats on the addition. I’ve had BGS cases like that before, I just crack the entire holder and topload both card and label together.
