Dude is an idiot, he will go to jail. But man, the vilification is unreal - posting his address all over the internet. Can you imagine if every bad thing you have done (in secret or in public) was broadcast to the world and went viral? We've got a lot of felons on this board who have done much, much worse.
But here's the rub. If this had happened say 20 years ago, nobody would have taken video; no one would have taken pictures and the people that were there would likely have one hell of a story to tell, but the guy who committed the assault would likely never have been found.

I don't think we can un-ring the bell so when someone does something really awful in public, there's a good chance he/she will be outed on the internet in front of millions of people. But would you rather have the guy found and arrested and shamed as he is/was; or for him to get away with it?

I certainly understand your point about "too far" and how the public is the one that judges who and who should not be doxxed but I'm actually OK with people's live being shaken up a little bit for behavior like this. I've yet to find an true example of someone who's life was ruined because of the mob, and not because of their own actions.

You are correct. This has gotten out of hand across the board/country.

But with all the social media tech being shoved down our throats what do you expect.

And of course, I am holier than thou.

And you are correct too. People need to be respectful of one another and this behavior at a game, A GAME ! should not be tolerated.

People need to be mindful that now-a-days you are always on display.

I have no issues with him getting rightfully arrested and having to deal with whatever the justice system doles out. I am glad he was caught and will have to deal with it. However, I guess what is unique about our day and age is exactly what you said - this kind of stuff happens in bars every single weekend (yes, even sucker punches) and justice is served (sometimes), but this young man is pretty much ruined forever because a google search of his name will forever haunt him. Some people might say he deserves it, shouldn't have done it in the first place, etc., but I guess my point is there are people on this board (including me) who have done worse - a lot worse - than punch someone and they would not want to be treated this way.

Everyone wants justice until its their turn. Then they want grace and forgiveness and understanding.

Stop it! I'm blushing!

But seriously...who are these felons? I want to put them on my ignore list.

Right? I mean, why wouldn't you want to put them on ignore? I definitely ignore everyone who has made mistakes in their life. I would never want to associate with those people, even on a board where they are talking about football cards.

Be careful, I heard once that if you posted in the same thread as a criminal, that it's contagious and you too might also become a criminal.

Sorry to strike a nerve.

Nah. Just think the response of the mob is a bit ironic. Dude made a huge, idiotic mistake, committed a crime, and will now have to deal with it. Should he be killed and raped? Probably not. Is he a huge pile of garbage? Maybe. I'm sure we'll find out more about him soon and then I guess determinations can be made.

This is exactly why fewer and fewer people would rather go to a FB game than just watch it at home.

Exactly. Why go to a game and deal with clowns like this.

Did anyone in this thread say he should be killed or raped? I must’ve missed that.

Guess Panthers released a statement working with cops to try to ID guy and press charges. Hope they find this punk bet he's typical millienial punk who feels entitled to do whatever he feels like.

Not punching a dude in the face.

I’m surprised it took this long to bring up millennials, especially since they’re at fault for every thing on the planet.

Definitely possibly exactly what I was thinking.

Ultimately, I'm glad this video popped off. I'm hopeful it leads to his arrest. If it's the kid that was listed above, it wouldn't be his first act of violence, and if true I hope the book is tossed at him.

Go to any website where the video is posted. Click on "comments." I didn't say that people in this thread were saying that, but I was commenting on the general public. I didn't mean to stir up a bit controversy, was just making a comment on the irony of our current state of affairs. Everything is all PC and love until it's not anymore.

I was more thinking about the $200-400 ticket price to sit in the end zone corner and the $10 a beer or $50 parking

You say that him having his name associated with this is a bad thing, like it SHOULDN'T haunt him. It should! You assault someone while being a D-Bag at a football game for no reason other than the people behind you asked you to sit down because they can't see the game, then you deserve having to deal with those actions when someone looks your info up. To be frank, if he didn't have it posted and he was arrested for it (and convicted) it will still show up on his background check when he tries to get a job, or whatever, anyway. Maybe, just maybe, shedding light on these dipwads will convince other dipwads that it just might not be worth the extra hassle of internet infamy and a lot higher chance of getting arrested for it. I'm all for that.

ETA: And, yes, if I decide I want to do this same thing, I would expect other people to keep me accountable for it. Just because some people get away with crappy stuff doesn't mean that we should give a pass to everybody. On the contrary, it means that we should be more vigilant and call it out more.
