Yeah. I always loved the roasts too. Whenever Foxx would get up to take his turn, everybody got that "oh sh!t whats he gonna say" look about them.

1 - Bill Cosby
2 - Richard Pryor & Gene Wilder
3 - Redd Foxx (LOVED REDD FOXX) "I was so fast I could turn the lights out and be back in bed under the sheets before the room got dark."

I remember one roast, (can't remember who they were roasting) and Foxx got up, walked to the mic and said "well this must be a good one, all the heavywieght honkeys are here." LOL

Its a tall order these days to be funny and not curse, gotta give it up to them. They did it better than any.

Some of my favorite comedians that tend to keep it clean : James Gregory, Jerry Clower, and Lewis Grizzard.

Good point on Andy and Don Knotts. Pryor and Wilder were good in their movies. I also thought Burt Reynolds and Dom Deluise were funny together in movies.

1. Mitch Hedberg (I'm a little shocked so many others listed him as their top choice)

2. Brendon Small and H. Jon Benjamin - Home Movies... one of the best but most unappreciated animated shows I've seen. Those two as Brendon and the Soccer coach or Jason created some of the funniest banter I've heard on TV.

3. Don't really have a favorite quote, but lots of Hedberg and Galifianakis one-liners come to mind.

I simply cannot belive that nobody has mentioned Jim Gaffigan yet.

His most recent facebook status:

"Directions to our apartment should always end with “…and follow the sound of screaming children”."

1) Who is your all time favorite comedian and why?(alive or dead)

Rodney Dangerfield and the three stooges are tied for 1st for me.

I still watch any rerun I can of both. Why: I love stupid humor.

2) Which two actors had the best chemistry together?

Walter Mathou & Jack Lemon in Grumpy old men

3) What is the funniest quote by a comedian/actor?

Rodney Dangerfield and the three stooges both again

Rodney Quote: "My wife and I were happy for twenty years. Then we met."

Scrooges Quote: "wake up and go back to sleep"

Dave Attell. I find his humor to be in step with mine. I like my humor raunchy with a touch of elementary school silliness.

Alec Baldwin and anyone else. Whether he's with Tina Fey, Adam Sandler, Steve Martin or Mark Wahlberg he's got some of the best line execution and has the ability to make any scene and writing that much better.

Any line from the movie, "Stepbrothers". I can't believe how much we quote that movie at work. Also, "Anchorman".

Grew up in the 80's and no stand up was funnier than Delirous and Raw..so has to be Eddie Murphy for me....

Belushi and Akroyd were great together

There were just so many great lines...in movies and jokes from great stand up...Great line, that I have tried to live up too comes from Animal House...."Fat, Drunk and stupid is no way go to through life son"....

1. Bill Cosby or the early 80's Stoned to the Bejeezus Robin Williams
2. Julia Louise Dreyfus and Jason Alexander in Seinfeld (Honorable mention Lucielle Ball and Vivian Vance in I Love Lucy)
3. Several lines from Full Metal Jacket involving Private Pyle (I like you and Fingerbanging were the topics)

I dare say that Chris Farley in Tommy Boy, was better than anything I've seen from Belushi. Thoughts?

Mrs. Lemur told me that Farley was not nearly as good as Belushi.

Its funny you mention Mrs. Lemur and Tommy Boy. Whe she and I first started dating, Tommy Boy was her favorite movie. I bet I've seen it 500 times thanks to her.

I can safely say that my wife has never seen it. She doesn't like non-romantic comedy movies.

Yep....agree 100% on Hartman as well. He was just scratching the surface of what he could have done...If Hartman would have lived? Would have been a huge TV/movie star...very sad.
