According to a Carson spokesman (a talking oil painting of Dr. Ben himself), America is currently hidden away in Saul Alinsky's old lunch pail, which bears the design of the popular 1970's weekly NBC-TV action series, "Lucifer and The Wreckin' Crew".

Once we have it back, we'll know right away, as it's very hard to carry.

If only Trump could just reel it in a little bit and learn to have more of a filter when speaking publicly where it is to be heard by a more demographically diverse group of people then I think he may be a viable candidate. Problem is, he just seems to be getting nuttier as this thing goes on.

He does go off from time to time but I like his energy. Republicans have been too quiet for too long.

Does anyone here think Trump or Clinton will make it more than 4 years?

They're gonna have to do some GREAT things for them to be re-elected in my opinion.

Still having a tough decision on who exactly to vote for atm.

Seems like it would be tough, but then again, there's only been one in the last 35 years unable to win re-election.

I'm going to try not to get too wrapped up in this thread... But I'll bite. A few opinions:

-Why do we still let the Constitution dictate so much of our lives and laws? There are SO many things that are commonplace in our world now that the founding fathers never could have even imagined. I.e. the internet, phones, how common guns have become, etc. Doesn't seem like we should still use a document hundreds of years old as the centerpiece of our laws

-Please for the love of God, don't vote for Trump. I don't know how anyone could consider doing so, honestly. If you don't want to vote for Hillary, fine. But Trump? It's absolutely mind blowing he is the person the Republican party has come up with. The idea that that man has a chance to be the President of the United States his absolutely horrifying. Don't make the mistake of voting for probably THE least qualified presidential candidate ever

Had something else but I'm blanking, so that's it for now

A lot of people I work with love Trump but even they were disappointed in his VP pick. They wanted some sort of minority to help him win their votes( I know..), now it's two white guys vs Hillary and god knows what.

If I vote, I will be voting for Trump. He scares the corrupt, run by special interest group politicians and I for one like that. My saying is: If the corrupt politicians tell you not to vote for person A, that's when you vote for person A. When politicians tell you that you don't need a gun, buy two guns.

I know I just said I'm going to try to now get myself wrapped up in this, but I can't help it

Do you also like his claims that all Mexicans are rapists, plans to deport all Muslims, mocking disabled people, general condescending attitude towards essentially everyone, and a complete lack of knowledge of seemingly everything? I'm all for getting rid of corruption in politics. But if you think electing Donald Trump is the best way to do that, you are ignoring basically everything else about him.

Hard to trust a guy that has created a 4.5 billion dollar empire that employs 22 thousand people.

Looking back I'm sure he would rather have taken the low road of pocketing millions for giving 20 minute speeches to banks. And let's not forget about Chelsea's gig with the Clinton Foundation. Check out how well run it is.

I'm sure you got that information from your Facebook friends.

I am hispanic. I have two sisters in Mexico. I try my best to keep up with politics. I also just so happen to be voting for Trump.

I voted twice for Obama. Have no issues admitting it, but no way in hell I vote for Clinton. Even my parents voted for Obama twice and they won't vote for Clinton. I know a lot of people that feel the same. If she wasn't a former First Lady, she'd be in a load of #@#@#@#@ right now.

Who you vote for is your choice. I don't care what your background is. Why anybody would think Trump is a good choice is absolutely beyond me. You are ignoring so much common sense. It's time for me to leave this thread for now

Trump is more qualified than our community organizer in chief was when he was elected. I think the unknown of Trump is far better than the known of Hillary

I'm reregistering LP on Thursday. I'm waiting only because the local LP organization is doing a party-switching party that day.

Johnson/Weld 2016. Cast a vote you won't have to lie to your kids about.

Putting aside the dig on the Constitution and the rhetoric, I'll focus on the comment about Trump possibly being the least qualified candidate in history.

This got me thinking who would have been the least qualified candidates (based on previous political experience) in history to have won the Presidency. Thinking objectively, the choices are probably, in order of election:

1. Washington - 2 1/2 months as a delegate in the Continental Congress, and Army General/Commander in Chief of the Army.
2. Lincoln - aside from a few years at the state level, just 1 term as a Congressman.
3. Grant - Commanding General of the Army.
4. Wilson - 2 years as Governor of New Jersey. Prior to that, President of Princeton.
5. Eisenhower - Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces.
6. George W. Bush - Almost 6 years as Governor of Texas. Prior to that, Owner of the Rangers.
7. Obama - aside from a few years at the state level, not quite 1 term as a Senator.

Note: I am not saying Trump is like any of those 7. Also, I am sure there are plenty of less qualified candidates who ran and lost.

What is interesting about the 7 is all of them ended up getting elected to a 2nd term.

I didn't vote once for Obama, and I'm glad I didn't.

I won't vote for Hillary or Trump, because I'm tired of voting for the ''lesser of two evils'', to be honest.

In the same way that Obama got a lot of votes from the young and the minorities BECAUSE he was black, Trump will get votes from the older and WHITE population because he's ''speaking their language'', regarding MEXICANS and MUSLIMS.

I think Hillary is an f'ing bonehead, and a disaster waiting to happen...

I don't believe this warrants a suspension.

Please do correct me if I'm wrong, but surely you can't be suggesting that Donald Trump today is more qualified that Barack Obama was in 2010 to be President?

It is interesting how 2 of the most highly regarded Presidents in our history show up as 1/2 on this list. Granted, I have no knowledge or desire to fact check this list, so I'll assume you're not trying to hide something from me But these guys all have had at the minimum multiple years of experience in a political setting (ignoring Washington because our political system wasn't created before he became President). Has Trump ever so much as ran for office on any level before now? That's why I'm curious as to if I'm reading Timmay's post I quoted above correctly. If I have interpreted it correctly, I'm very intrigued as to how he could possibly rationally support that claim, as Trump has literally no previous political experience. Obviously his businesses have done him well. But business is quite the different setting from politics
