Remember when the Clips were going to be the toughest defensive team ever?
I still have no idea why they were touted as gonna be so great defensively when they had Lou and Trez.

They've been middle of the pack defensively from day 1 and they've been 1 out scorers offensively ever since Kawhi and PG got there also.

Total pretenders.

Still plenty of games left. Ups and downs, as always- surprised everyone that they were able to turn it around overnight.

But this is how I envisioned the pieces would fit. Only a few knew about the dissension and locker room issues which was the root of their problem.

I think Deandre Hunter and Dunn are also scheduled to join that team soon.

If they win the game tonight, coach Nate could continue this excellent streak. Soft schedule, no reason bot finish 7-3 in their next 10- unless they revert to being a confused team.
I would be more impressed if their record was better. I said from the start if they can play .500 ball that would be great. The East is even worse than I thought it would be..

Didn't you say the Hawks would finish above the Nets though?

Hawks are a fun team when in sync but they are just too young and is still searching for their identity. They’re the type who could easily falter in any series because of the amount of inexperience in that roster.

DRob, I said the Hawks would have a better regular season record based on two factors. KD’s health and Kyrie being a disruption.

Fast forward:
KD has missed 7 weeks. Kyrie is still occasionally taking some time off.

Without Harden, a Kyrie and Jarrett Allen team would be a 13th seed right now.

Jimmy Harden saved that franchise from sinking. Give that man his credit.

Terrible data that meant nothing in such a small sample.
First I want to point out that Lebron was 127-119 (.516) in his first 3 years. The only losing season was his rookie year in which the team was 35-47 but improved 18 games from the previous year.

Second I want to point out that none of that really matters. No one really believes Jordan would have had a losing record in the end with or without Pip. Its a true but pointless stat. Which is why your stat about about Lebron having a losing record before Larry got there is great - its equally true and pointless.

Although Lebron did have a winning record with the Cavs if you take out the LH games and you cant say that about Jordan on the Bulls if you take out Pip.

Crazy.
Clips basically couldn't miss. Hawks have to be pissed about throwing that away.

I'm glad you're taking my post for the sattire it totally was.

LeBron had a losing record the first 2 seasons overall before LH got there. If we're counting games after, sure, he gets in front.

I have a feeling you guys are counting the full season Jordan broke his foot? They finished with 30 wins.

They were 3 and 0 when Jordan broke his foot.

Then he came back on a minutes limit. They went 5 and 8.
So 8 and 8

Then they were 24 and 11 without Pippen in 97/98. After a slow start of 9 and 7 they went 15 and 4. Struggling.....

So yeah, you probably can say that about MJ without Pip.

If Boston finds a way to trade Marcus Smart before the deadline...

Danny Ainge. It would be the final blunder in his tenure surely.

Hawks/Trae fans, let's please refrain from talking trash on here to the haters. I was very much into silently enjoying this win streak.

I think we jinxed it and got Terrance Mann & Luke Kennard some Monstar powers tonight

Whoa whoa whoa man, Playoffs aren't included. Literally stats wise they're not. And some of the other players mentioned, cough, cough, LeBron, didn't even make the Playoffs.

Ah it's all fun

As soon as I read the posters comment about people taking the Hawks seriously I knew they were doomed to lose lol. Hopefully they bounce back against the Kings tonight. Can't imagine they play Hunter on a back to back tho.

What is somewhat insane about the current odds is that the next best player is +600. You have a group of LeBron / Embiid / Giannis all sitting at that number, then followed by Dame and Luka at the +1,200.

You almost never see such a disparity between 1 and 2, when 1 isn't a heavy favorite; would suggest the books are begging to take action on Nikola.

As much as I think Jokic is the favorite, those are terrible odds on him from a value standpoint IMO.

Andre Drummond is expected to be bought out by the Cleveland Cavaliers if he is not traded by the deadline and the Los Angeles Lakers are considered the favorites to sign him once he clears waivers, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

"The league believes, and I know that's a vague statement, but I'm saying it that way to avoid trapping myself," said Windhorst on his podcast. "The league believes, numerous teams I've talked to believe that Andre Drummond is heading for the Lakers if slash when he gets bought out.

"And there's a growing belief that LaMarcus Aldridge, the leader for LaMarcus Aldridge is the Heat.

"Now, let's see how everything plays out this week. The Heat could make moves that change their dynamic. Other teams could make moves that change their dynamic. I know the L.A. teams have interest in LaMarcus too and the way things go, that could end up being the case.

"Multiple people I've talked to in the league with multiple teams believe that's a possibility."

Drummond was traded by the Detroit Pistons to the Cavaliers at last year's deadline.

I doubt we see that happen,Smart plus two firsts for Gordon & Fournier would be a pretty big overpay when Fournier is set to be a FA this offseason and Gordon next. I’m guessing Smart’s name was included once Fournier’s got added to the deal for salary matching purposes, one of Gordon or Fournier fits under the TPE but not both combined. It would take Smart’s 12m plus another 5m-ish in salary to match Fournier’s 17m.
I have nothing to base this on but I think we’ll either see Gordon for two 1sts + some other young player(s) + cap relief or no trade at all over Smart & picks for Fournier & Gordon.
