Stanton’s AAV is $25mm. And he played OF for the first 5 years of that contract before moving significantly to DH last year.

When Tatis signed his massive contract, Devers commented that’s what he deserved, too. I hope that isn’t still his expectation. As it doesn’t seem like a credible number. And isn’t even worth it w/Tatis, as SD is finding.

Given the age difference, I would expect Devers to sign for more than Ramirez.

Again, if the Red Sox are comparing Devers batting stats to DH they are being disingenuous. If it were me I'd laugh them out of the building, then go sign with the Yankees. The correct way to asses is to look at projected WAR, regardless of position. If the Red Sox want to move Devers to a position that doesn't optimize his value, that is on them.

Another factor; Devers isn't a free agent until after the 2023 season. It would be expected that he'd take a discount if he signs early.

If he were on the open market right now I'd expect Devers to get 10/275, but two of those year are covered by arb. The free agent years are worth 8/195, and he'd have to take a discount on that for signing early. If he's able to maintain his level of play and hit the open market he might be able to get 9/270.

Super excited for Devers this year. It's going to be hard to win MVP in the AL this year but he has as good of a shot as any. My 27 card PSA order has been stuck in Assembly but I'm hoping my Devers grading luck continues. I always intended to sell but now I'm moving towards long term hold. He's special

When it comes to the Red cards, I figured it would only be minutes until we got a nice picture like that. Those need to be shown often.

Sometime I need to pull them all together and have a new full family picture. Sadly our collection isn’t very accessible these days. I just have old pictures to look at.

Oh man - we can commiserate over so many of these situations. I turned down $120 for a PSA10 Chrome Gold Auto just before July 4th 2019 because I don’t like graded and wouldn’t offer more than $100

He’s got the power to do it. It will certainly take some luck. Especially since Fenway’s configuration is hard on LH HR hitters. He loses maybe 20% of his Fenway HR total every year vs. having another ballpark as home.

Honestly I wouldn’t doubt NYY are whispering in his ear w/huge contract. He’s kind of specialty built for the Yankees short right field porch
