Atlanta is in talks with New Orleans concerning Lonzo Ball. I'd definitely move Cam Reddish to the Pelicans for Lonzo. He'd fit really well next to Trae.

They should have won that but NO seemed to keep getting nice calls to help them home.
Jokic was his usual awesome self. 11/14 in the second half but I'll just never understand how Denver is always dominated at the line.

Denver has played 9 games this where the opposing team has shot 15+ more FT's than they have.

Denver has played 0 games this season where they've shot 15+ more FT's vs. the opposing team.

Today was 30 to 10. Jokic had no attempts.

Pretty standard from TJ this season. Not sure what he's watching but it wasn't the entire 2nd half where Jokic was carrying them.

The Jokic one he shouldn't have reached in at the end.

But just seemed like Denver couldn't put them away. Murray did nothing in the 4th.

This makes little sense. Am I the only one thinking that?
Who runs the point for NO?

Why does ATL want a Lonzo/Trae backcourt?

That free throw differential hurts for sure. They need to put more pressure on teams so they can get in the penalty.

They need a banger.

I assume that Kira Lewis Jr runs the point if they trade Lonzo. For the Hawks it offers a secondary playmaker and another PG. You could stagger their minutes so that you've always got a strong PG in the game. Lonzo also is a pretty decent defender. I think the Hawks are just kicking the tires on PG's to see if they can upgrade their second unit and if that upgrade only cost Cam Reddish and maybe a pick for a player like Lonzo that's an easy price to pay even with the potential upside of Cam Reddish.

Kuzma now has a chance to step up. Love to see him lead the Lakers in points over the next few games.

I don’t know what the record is for dunks off lobs in a game, but I feel like Claxton is going to destroy that record tonight.

If a Claxton thread doesn't show up on Blowout soon, I might end up starting one. The kid is a beast. Brooklyn has 4 All Stars in Durant, Irving, Harden, and Griffin... but it seems like the player the Nets fanbase is most hyped about is Claxton.

Funny thing is I'm actually rooting for the Hawnks...

Never had an issue with them.. just the folks trying to place Trae on the same pedestal with Luka and such.

That’s not why. He’s pumping Giannis for MVP and trashing Jokic because he has that Giannis Next Day and just bought a Prizm Silver.

2 things.

1. I've acknowledged with Embiid and LeBron down, Jokic is the current front runner.

2. Actually, I only watched the second half. Joker absolutely baked Adams like it was nothing all game 2nd half, until the last minute or so when he had 2 lane violations and brick. I guess that one bad clutch time performance takes away from the have dozen or so great ones he's had this year.

All that being said... where I stand is that Jokic controls if he wins it or not based on where Denver finishes. Top 3 seed and he's got it... but I'll have a really hard time keeping my vote with him if:

-the Bucks win the East and Denver isn't top 3 (or with a better record)
-Portland or Dallas pass Denver in the standings.

Think about it.... Denver is tied with Portland. Dallas is now 2.5 games back.. if either of those teams pass them, it gets really hard to argue Jokic over Lillard or Luka.

Even if they weren't down he's been statistically the best player this season.

I was about to hedge on Embiid and then he went down.
Giannis won't get it unless he did something extra spectacular.
Bron wasn't deserving at any point this season but has the sympathy vote.

1 in the East means nothing. The Hawks are 4th and I doubt they'd be in the top 10 out West.

I just see you chime in any time there's a loss. Similar to how you've trolled Trae this season. You do you man.

I just posted a similar thing though, if Luka gets his team above the Nugs he may get it.

Jokic has just done it every which way this season. It's incredible. I hope he gets it.

Luka needs to bless the NBA. He needs to leave Dallas once his contract is up. This kid is unreal. Give him the brightest light and the best organization ASAP. No offense to Cubes but no marquee FA is going to Dallas.

Luka with a real contender roster around him is an easy dynasty.

He’s good. But to be fair, he had Dame on him like half the night. Dude is worse than Trae!

You should pay attention because I chime in on wins and losses.

Heck, you know how I'm a Philly fan, but I chimed in on a few of their bad loses enough that one of the other guys came at me.

I was one of the people to point out that Atlanta getting to .500 is a great accomplishment, considering they were .300 last year.

I guess that's rare around here for someone to be able to have takes both for and against their own teams/personal investments. But I don't want to be one of those guys that just doubles down on bad takes over and over again despite what's happening in front of them.

If Jokic can lead his team to being one of the top teams in an injury plagued Western Conference, while playing this well on offense, that makes him MVP in my book. If he can't lead his team to being one of the top teams in an injured plagued Western Conference, and someone else does lead their team to a standout record, I just can't justify it.

Don't see why that would be a controversial take.

Fair enough.

But Westbrook was what, 6th in the West his MVP season? It can happen.

I remember being called a Panini hater one time and then got called a Panini worshipper in another thread

Who watched the Nets v Wizards game tonight?

How about this guy Russell Westbrook? Had an amazing game and almost single-handedly kept the Wiz within a basket or 2 of victory, just relentless. Attacking the paint, pushing the ball hard and finding guys for clean looks. A shame Brad had an off night or perhaps they could've got a W and became the super bogey against those foul Nets.

One thing about Griffin, I've always been a fan but to be honest didn't watch him at all in Detroit - but all this chat about him not dunking since Dec 2019 and then he dunks in his first game as a Net with a big grin on his face? Dang, if I were a Piston fan I'd be livid because it indicates something not great... but then again can you blame him for hating his time in Detroit with the all-time horrendous general managing going on?

Because developing home grown talent is way more fun than compiling overdramatic, egomaniacal stars

They're still evaluating that high-ankle sprain, but I'm told that the Lakers are preparing for the possibility they could be without LeBron James for three weeks, even a month. That's a normal time frame for recovery for that injury, but they're still firming up a timeline. James has shown in his career an incredible ability to recover quickly from injury and play through injury, but this one's not going to be so easy, and the Lakers, again, are preparing for the possibility this is going to be weeks, not days."
Per Woj - so likely they fall to 7/8 I'd guess, barring Lebron rushing back... which wouldn't be wise.

Ahah.

And that's the price we pay around here for having strong takes...

and hey... I don't even mind when someone challenges them without making it personal. That's half the fun around here... as long as we keep it about sports and it doesn't become a personal attack (which happens way too much these days).

Sounds like Danny Ainge has been trying hard to land Aaron Gordon. Also seeing reports that Boston & Atlanta are having talks centered around Marcus Smart,John Collins & Bogdanovic. Depending on the price I think I’d rather go with Gordon over potentially losing Smart then having to fork over a max contract on Collins.
