Sounds like we’re 8 days behind then based on 79 and 75 cases reported. Closest I could find in that range. Feb. 22 and March 1.
Sounds like we can’t continue to compare the US to Italy then. The numbers don’t match what you’re saying. It’s weird

I've been seeing some memes about 1720, 1820, 1920 and 2020 pandemics. Weird.

Follow the numbers here: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ 13,000 people dead and rising, but keep cracking wise. And for another math lesson, one that shows the impact that lies ahead in the United States, just give 5 minutes to this: https://twitter.com/nowthisnews/stat...25019952263170 If you wanna dig in your heels with your garbage even more after watching that video, go right ahead, keep showing your ass in public. PS. All those spring break videos from Florida showing all those college kids flaunting the warnings like you... they're all about to go back home and spread it even further, possibly even killing people near and dear to you while doing it. ETA: here's the full 15 minute video should you truly be interested in gaining a better perspective on this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oq1LyEhmNfU

FDA needs to get their head out of their ass and formally approve one of these at-home test kits.
Once that's done, send every individual with a registered mailing address 2 complimentary kits. One to take initially upon receipt, and one to take 15-18 days later as a precautionary measure in the case of asymptomatic incubation. Require doctor visits give first priority to those with positive test results so things don't get backed up more than they already are. Stuff it in the mail along with the stimulus check that'll get blown on FOTL.

Connecticut just closed the non-essential business until ... April 22nd.
One full month. Yikes. Off we go.

And why do you believe it? There's not even 1 bit of evidence proving that will happen.

Five weeks total....so figure that 4-6 range I have been saying, where people genuinely just stop caring.

Now you are buying that we should worry about cases? Your own source, I have been following closely. US has had 4 straight days around 40-50 deaths. That doesn't match any other trend of any country. Case numbers are up, because of more widely available test. Fact is serious cases have DRAMATICALLY dipped per your source from 9% to 5% today......probably stops at around 1%. Which one is? Should we not worry about cases like the media said Monday. Or should we now be worried about cases because the mortality rate and serious case rate are falling through the floor, and that no longer fits their agenda? Let me know!

Over the next 2-4 weeks it absolutely will. You guys can doubt all you want - and you can quote the *current* numbers all you want (which are never really "current" anyway with delays in reporting), but you're completely ignoring that the current numbers can be extrapolated forward to some extent, and by that, I mean, maybe by the end of next week, you'll understand more what's actually at play here. Here's an anecdote that I feel is apropos, even though it discusses exponential rather than logarithmic growth: http://jonathanbecher.com/2016/01/31...tial-thinking/ "Imagine a large pond that is completely empty except for 1 lily pad. The lily pad will grow exponentially and cover the entire pond in 3 years. In other words, after 1 month there will 2 lily pads, after 2 months there will be 4, etc. The pond is covered in 36 months. If I asked you when the pond would be half filled with lily pads, the temptation would be to say 18 months – half of the 36 months. In fact, the correct answer is 35 months. Right before the pond is filled, it’s half filled; because it doubles the next month. While the correct answer is relatively straightforward to understand, the brain doesn’t work well exponentially. We think linearly. For example, here is an image of the pond 1/64 full – hardly full at all. When does this happen?" The pond is 1/64 full in month 30, only 6 months before it is completely full. This is the problem with anything subject to exponential growth. It’s deceiving. 30 months into a 36 month phenomena is a long time (2.5 years!) but there are hardly any results. Because the pond is barely full, many people won’t believe the trend is real. Even those closest to the phenomena might not understand how big it is going to be."
