It’s hard to see how Kershaw gets 25 more strikeouts.

Maybe some batters would be willing to take a dive for Clayton like Brett Favre did for Michael Strahan.

Nice to see Muncy finding the power again, especially in the clutch. Over the past 7 years, he's still #11 in the MLB in home runs hit during that span with 190. If he heats up like he's capable, he can easily get back into the top 10 as he's just a few behind Devers and Machado. On that same list spanning 7 years, Mookie is #14 with 184, Teoscar is #17 with 182, and Freddie is #20 with 177.

As you might suspect, Judge is #1 with 264. Schwarber, Ohtani, and Alonso are numbers 2-4 with about 240 each. And with that, the Dodgers currently start 5 of the top 20 most prolific bombers since Shohei came into the league.

Alonso in bash mode tonight.
Looks like the season series to the Mets is lost.

Padres lost so it looks like LA will keep the one game lead.

The pitching is just so bad. Lord knows they are doing their best to piece it together but there needs to be some arms that get healthy or this is gonna get ugly.

They can't get healthy as long as Prior and his training staff keep doing what they're doing.

Luckily the Padres are sucking just as hard. Going to be a big series with them next week.

5 K's so far thru 3 on 42 pitches., which leaves him 18 short.
If he can finish the game and get the last 18 outs by strikeout, he's got it!

All right, Kershaw thru 5 and in line for his first win of 2025.
2,984 strikeouts for Clayton. Let's see if they bring him back out for the 6th.

Nice to see Kershaw get the win and edge closer to 3K. Offense also finally
woke up a little.

I thought it would be pulling teeth to get him to 3K. And while I think he’s still in for some stinkers, he’s going to get a lot of starts that it should be pretty smooth to get there sooner than later.

After those first few starts with 1-3 Ks each it looked really rough. I hope this is a sign of things to come.

Still feels like if he's starting a playoff game then the year has just gone horribly wrong. I have my faith in the Dodgers easing some of these pitchers like Yamamoto was last year and that they are ready come September but man, it's just so many injuries. I don't think Prior is the issue as much as the front office is giving contracts to the high risk high reward types. Snell and Glasnow have never been the beacons of health...and the arms they develop are also typically the ones with injury histories given how late in the draft they have been for a decade now. Would also guess the ones getting hurt because they are only effective throwing like 60% sliders is an issue too.

11 runs for the two teams in the first 3 innings and only 1 more over the next 6.
Good relief pitching from both teams, including from Yates in the bottom of the 9th.

Better score one here, LA.
