He was the pressure. All their opponents were throwing 3 drop step passes with a few 5 step. As soon as he was injured & the Lions knew Dak had to pass, Prescott was doing 5-7 drop step passes. The secondary is going to have to step up. There will be no outside pressure like we had the first 5 games.

He is pretty darn good. Just took a peek at the career stat line. His completion pct is better than I thought I'd see.

May be the Brees of this generation.

I don’t know about that. Brees and those guys are part of the golden age. Those guys came into the league playing pro style offenses in college and learned to read defenses and ways to exploit them. These guys today have college concepts molded into their offenses when they come into the league. Very good quarterbacks and many have wheels to bail them out but they’re not on the same level as the previous gen who, because they weren’t fleet of foot, were more dependent on reading the d and getting the ball out on time. Just my opinion only.

All fair points. They really don't teach much on reads in these hyped college QBs these days. It's just spread O and bail when you feel pressure. Being a Lawrence loss leader it took him almost two seasons to properly read cover 2. They just don't teach em like they used to.

My point is Brees, especially after 08, was deadly accurate and ran up high stats. I think it's a fair comp. Being in Cincinnati 1 SB is really all he needs to cement a legacy.

Different coach though.
