I'm kind of in the same dilemma with the collection. I don't have a way to display the PC, but I also don't want for the cards and autographs to fade in any potential light.

With the exception of my binders from my original childhood PC of SY, (keep the original PC in tact for nostalgia purposes) I keep them stored in designated card boxes based upon how they're being protected. Boxes of top loaded cards, and boxes designated for sleeved protected one-touches to keep them looking nice and free of scratches. Same for my graded cards - all in the designated boxes that are made to store graded cards, each with their own graded card sleeve to keep them clean and scratch free.

While I don't get to look at the collection in its totality all that often, it always is mind blowing to leaf through things once a blue moon and see how it's accumulated over the years

Question for those guys collecting retired players, do you prefer getting the newly released inserts/autos/parallels/1 of 1s/Etc. or prefer stuff from their playing days? Or no preference at all?

I prefer stuff from SY's playing days, and actively avoid Panini-era newly released products in general for my PC. Death by a thousand parallels.

I think the only exceptions I've made were for some of their on-card auto releases, and even those predate the monopoly starting in 2016 (2013 50th Anniversary Hall of Fame /50, 2012 National Treasures NFL Greatest Signatures /25)

No preference really. All the new parallels don't bother me too much, except when the differences are almost imperceptible. I don't bother chasing those too hard. This seems to happen a lot on autograph cards. I'm a sucker for things like Mosaic and Optic where the parallels are dramatically different. It is exciting to find something old that I don't have but that doesn't happen very often as I have something like 85-90% of the cards from Alstott's active years (not counting 1/1's).

Nice, my PC guy is from 1996 as well. I never really set out to get them all, but I looked the other day and I'm under 20 cards away from having all the non 1/1s. Luckily I won't have to be chasing any modern cards.
