Just a complete joke. Is he a good pocket passer ? Nope

But he can run like Lamar Jackson

This.

Last year proved that he (along with the Bears) experienced the most success when he ran for over 70 yards.

That's the formula. Give him 10-14 rushes a contest and see what he does with it.

Is it risky? Yeah. But you knew that when you drafted him.

Well, I think this is Fields last Start in Chicago this weekend.

All I took from his press conference.

His bad play is 100% the Coaches Fault
The Coaches want him to be a pocket passer, go through progressions, read the field and defense and make the right play.

He isnt going to do what they want, and is going back to be himself. Make his own decisions and choices. Play his game.

So, 166 yards passing, 110 rushing yards, 2 fumbles, 2 INTs and a 48-20 Bears loss the Chiefs?

And Bagent get the week 4 start?

Just find it comical how its still not Fields fault at all, and everyone is saying good. Fields dont listen to the Coaches do what you do that got you to 5-20 as a starter...

Fields wants to do what made him and every other QB at OSU a success. Go thru one or two reads then take off running. Might have worked at OSU but at NFL level it's going to lead to a career of injuries.

I hope Fields doesn't suffer that same fate as Trubisky.

So with Fields blaming staff how long until we hear he has asked for a trade?

Here's some of what Fields said:

Quote:
“You know, could be the coaching, I think,” Fields said in response to a question about why he is thinking too much. “At the end of the day, I can’t be thinking about that when the game comes. I prepare myself throughout the week and then when the game comes, it’s time to play free at that point. Thinking less and playing more.”

“I felt like I wasn’t necessarily playing my game. I felt like I was robotic … not playing like myself,” he said. “My goal this week is to play football how I know how to play football. That includes thinking less and going out there and playing off instincts.”

“It’s probably more of a me thing than a coach thing,” he said. “In the grand scheme of things, I have to be the person, the player that’s gotten me up to this point.”

You know this would have been a normal thing if TPG had been around in the 80s.

fun fact: best season for a bears QB goes to Erik Kramer in 1995. 29 touchdowns, 10 ints, 3800 yards. bizarre because he sucked every other year of his career. first bears jersey I ever had!

You posted the most yards in a season. Not the best season by a Bears QB.

Best season by a Bears QB goes to Jim McMahon. As his 1985 Bears won a Super Bowl. That season, The Punky QB was a perfect 11-0 in the regular season, and a perfect 3-0 in the post season. Where he tossed 636 yards in the playoffs, had 3 TD 0 INT and had a rating of 106.6

Highest rating by a Bears QB for a season goes to Mitch Trubisky. In 2018, Mitch complied a rating of 95.4. Tossing 231 yards per game, 24 TDs through the air, plus 421 yards rushing and another 3 TD's

Very fair point.

But Mitch stunk that year, numbers always lie. Vaguely remember a 6 TD game against a non existent Tampa Bay D

Stunk that season?

He tied the team record for most 300-passing-yard games in a season with four, while also setting a franchise-high of games with a passer rating higher than 120 as he had four as well.

11-3 record, nearly 4,000 total yards of offense in 14 games. Won the NFC North, and played in the Pro Bowl. And had 6 TDs in one game (five of them before half time). By Bears standards, it was the best QB performance ever in a season.

Hold on. I know it’s been decades ago but Mitch couldn’t hold Sid Luckman’s you know what. In 43 Luckman in 10 games threw for 28 touchdowns and was the league leader in just about every category. In the Championship game, Luckman threw for 5 Touchdowns. Did Mitch intercept 4 passes in his season while having the punting duties, which included a 78 yarder. Grid, Luckman is the Bears all time Greatest quarterback, no debate.
