This game made me remember why I love this sport. It was so exciting to watch Jake pitch, then to actually get him a win.... It feels amazing to have the best pitcher in baseball on our team and have something go right

Is Lindor not strong? How was he hitting hrs before, but now can't get the ball to the outfield. 1 HR, 0 SB, guaranteed contracts.........priceless.

Lindor is a puzzling case right now. Stats would suggest he is somewhat unlucky but I really don't see it. The contact he's making makes it seem like he's swinging a wiffle ball bat.

At the very least he needs a full revamp on his launch angle

The whole offense needs to do better. Chili Davis is not earning his paycheck.

And Rojas continues to make puzzling decisions. Why pinch hit Nimmo yesterday with 2 outs and nobody on base? Use Peraza there and save Nimmo for a high leverage pinch hitting opportunity.

Also I can't understand why they keep running Pillar out there over Almora. It would be one thing if it was because of offense but Pillar isn't hitting a lick. Almora is a much better defender and he's riding pine. Makes no sense.

Mets need a good old fashioned slumpbuster in the worst way....That Smith / Alvarado confrontation could have been a jump start but it was de-escalated quickly as it all Alvarado's doing...New month, brings new hope....LGM

Good news is that the Mets pitching is doing a great job.

Yup, showing a little bit of life. They don't seem to be swinging for a homerun on every pitch too.

That was the most Mets sequence that I've ever seen.

Poor Nimmo. The check swing before his full swing must have really irritated his wrist. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Mights really needed that win. Some signs of some bats coming out of it. Lindor and McCann looking really awful at the plate right now.

i could go a month without seeing him after watching his performance last night. I don't care how good he pitches or may pitch this season. some of these guys always show their true colors. what you saw last night is his. it gets scarier when he's out there when he has to close a NLCS or WS.

it's amazing how many "closers" can't keep the ball in the ballpark.

and yes that was a homerun pretty much. he got lucky

when Lindor starts hitting (which is inevitable), the Mets lineup will be scorching. huge ripple effect if that guy hits

Girardi post game comment

"I mean, it's a replay. I mean, that's what the replay system is there for," Phillies manager Joe Girardi said. "I mean, obviously, it's frustrating it goes against us, but I'm assuming that they were right. I mean, I'm making the assumption, and you know I've said all along -- the whole idea is to get calls right. It's frustrating because we thought we tied it up, and then it's kind of like, you know, it's tough."

I mean, I sincerely someone helps him learn to speak in public.

When they brought in Diaz I said to my wife, this won't go well. Diaz has shown time and time again that he doesn't pitch well in non save situations.

I'm not sure what Rojas was thinking last night. Not just non-save situations, but Diaz has proven he doesn't pitch well on back-to-back days. And when he told Hefner he had back tightness, Rojas still left him in?!

Nothing like a game in May to shave a few minutes off my life...

Hopefully this is the spark they needed to get the bats going.
