And this is all a talking point not because of deaths, but lockdowns.

All this data on how this doesn't affect the working class yet the working class is being prevented from working their jobs/careers.

I did not insult you. I spoke of statistics and how the virus is of no consequence to the population as a whole. You then attempted to cite overall numbers, but refused to accept them globally. You contradicted your own position in the matter of two posts. First, 200,000 lives matter because of the sheer volume, then you restricted global auto deaths to country auto deaths because it fit your narrative better.

Finally, you then told me that my lack of caring for others does not surprise you. You gave up.

I did not insult you. You just played victim because it was your best and final move.

Let's disect this, shall we?

You did insult me, but I've been called worse and I'm not upset.

I cited US death numbers. You countered with global car accident numbers. I converted them back to US numbers. All of the numbers I used were US.

This is not "my" narrative.

Your lack of caring absolutely does not surprise me. I did not, however, give up. I believed you had already given up when you spouted some silly insult rather than a coherent, intelligent response.

I have no need to play victim. You are not able to victimize me. You do not have any power over me at all.

Did I miss anything?

Exactly. You get the flu, you stay home for a few days, then you go about your life. Some people with co-morbidities die from it. Exact same situation as COVID. Yet, for whatever reason COVID is talked about like it's a plague and anyone who doesn't buy into the 24/7 media panic just doesn't care about people dying.

Sure, let's dissect.

You tell me that I do not care about others, yet willingly drive a death machine, probably everyday, that is responsible for 1 million deaths every year. The origin of country does not matter but you choose your own selfish wellbeing over the lives of others. You probably even drive with your family in the car, what a monster you are.

Sure, if you want to say 70,000 in the U.S., that's fine. 1 million dead in the last 15 years as a result of this behavior and for what? Just so you can make a buck and visit your family and friends?

You should do the responsible thing and never drive again. It is the only way to ensure you are not risking the other people on the road.

(If you were insulted by my mention of your high horse, then I shutter to think what doesn't insult you).

Clearly you and I disagree on the issue of Covid. I'd just like to say though, that you and I agree on many things. We both lean right, no?

I don't feel like it's going to do anyone any good for us to keep harping on this point. I could go on about how cars are very different, blah blah, then you could respond with some witty, charming comment (lol) blah blah, but we'd just keep going in circles.

I'd rather we let this one go (just between us) and got back to beating up on the lefties again. What say you?

Because we dont have the answers yet...and 60K deaths in a year is nowhere near comparable to the 400K that will happen in our first year of the pandemic.

Do yourself a favor and watch anything EXCEPT Fox & CNN. The world is laughing at us! The World.....especially Trumpers...considered the biggest bag of douchery on the planet currently. By the way...there is a difference between a Trumper and a republican.

I mean we basically give away influenza vaccines for free and people don't take up the offer. Think of how much higher that number would be without a vaccine. COVID-19 deaths are already north of 200k and that's with all these distancing and mask wearing orders. I'd argue that COVID-19 seems to be more serious because of how deadly it has shown to be compared to other viruses. Imagine what that number would have been had we done literally nothing. No closures. No distancing efforts. No wear a mask campaigns.

That's how I look at it at least.

It's a shame you write so many words then simply give up your position. Why even bother starting a discussion?

What answers are we waiting for?

I don't watch either Fox or CNN. I watch very little "news".

All I know is that if my grandfather with a bad heart, and bad lungs, catches the wrong flu strain, he will likely die. This has been the case for at least the last 5 years. I didn't see anyone freaking out about masks 5 years ago and he and his population was at similar risk.

Okie dokie. I guess that's an answer.

For the record, you are the one that said you don't care. I simply said I wasn't surprised.

Also, we did disect it. It has been disected. That weakness you spouted has been fully dismantled and shown to be less than insightful.

Friends? Good one! That one made me spit up a lil bit of the soda I was sipping.

Give up my position? What position did I give up? Your substandard lunch had already been eaten. It might be reasonable to say that I tossed the crumpled paper bag back your way, but that's about it.

If you want to continue wasting my time, I'm going to have to charge you for the education. A few Tatis cards might keep me interested. Otherwise, move along with your pedestrian comments.

You are dismissed.

I’ have a 40 year employee, fit in good health, get it and he’s been out over two weeks. Still can’t smell or taste, headaches, coughing. He was fast and loose with masks and safety and didn’t think it was a big deal...til he got it. Now he wishes he took it more serious.

But I guess he’s just a wimp and baby and has been brainwashed by the liberal media.

Fair enough and a very good point. Flu deaths would likely rival Covid deaths without a vaccine. It would kill the at risk people, and far more healthy ones and children as well.

I honestly don't think we saved as many as you think with our actions. Maybe we postponed them, but we were told at the outset that absent a vaccine, the same amount of people were going to get this thing. We are just spreading it all out over a longer period of time. We know who is at risk, lets take care of them, provide testing for those close to them and move forward.

We could argue all day about that, but it would not be very productive.

One thing I do know is, we cannot continue like this with the lock downs forever. Extreme damage is being done.

We had Dr. Birx in town about a month ago. She said full time school was preferable to the hybrid model the district planned on. One month later, still hybrid in my children's school, but neighboring district went to full online after a couple positives. It's just wild.

I thought masks are to protect other people, not the wearer unless it is a properly fit and a regularly sanitized n95 mask?

Clearly out of breath at least. Understandable of course. Hope he immediately goes to rest, he shouldn't be away from the Hospital. Another successful photo op though.
