Degrom quietly returning to form. Saw some sliders back at 92 today but he's still holding back. So the real question is when rangers slide into playoffs if he's still healthy if he lets it go at 99-102 instead of just sitting 98 and being aweomse but not best ever territory

Totally agree and I’m not gonna judge this season’s performance off this 1st start.
BUT as I posted in another thread, I don’t want to see 2023 Adam Wainwright, you’re either a big leaguer or you’re not.

I think that Kersahw start bumped his career ERA up from like 2.5 to 2.514. Which would now make DeGrom #1 all time (for pitchers that count). But I'd assume the gap will widen somehwhat this year

Doesn't matter if you can throw 102 if you can't throw it for strikes. That's 2 walks (not counting the IBB) in three of Miller's last four appearances

It absolutely mattered this game. His inability to find the zone lost them the game.

His 9.8% walk rate before the game was bottom third in the league. His fastball run value is bottom half of the league.

What's his chase rate on just the fastball?

Edit, no longer top 1 percentile and his walk is now bottom 7th percentile.

Was reading that Pirates may move Skenes at the trade deadline this year even though he has team control for 4 years. The reasoning is value is high due to team control and his play and they could get back a nice haul for him in prospects.

Isn’t a bad move if they have no one around him to make a contender the next few years but I feel that they could if they would open up their wallet a bit.

It’s not happening. That’s just outside rumor and speculation. It would have to be something like the Red Sox giving up Anthony, Mayer, and something else for Skenes.

yea it seems impossible given what the ask would be. The few teams that even have enough prospects to get it done if they wanted to either (1) suck and its pointless or (2) are to cheap to sign him to a huge extension and its pointless.

which pretty much leaves the red sox or maybee like the Tigers with Clark + jobe. I guess Orioles are always out there but they refuse to trade prospects to get better and likely cant afford an extension

For whatever reason, I really like Ben Brown. Got these back in a recent order.

Here is to Mr Brown continuing to improve with each start and being a mainstay in the Cubs rotation for the foreseeable future.

Incredibly Munoz first earned run last Tuesday was at some point (properly in my unbiased opinion) reversed to an error and is now unearned.

So he continues the perfect 0.00 ERA season.

I think the 2020 gold finest flashbacks are so nice.

Brash just back from the year plus injury recovery and looked really really sharp against the top of the Padres order last night.
