He doesn't always do it or direct it at the other team, so for the most part I'm good with that.

To me, celebrating is celebrating. I have no issue with it. If you don't like a player celebrating, stop him. Plain and simple.

I have no issue with Giannis sitting on the court, flexing, mean mugging or anything else he does. I just don't understand how some people have an issue with Curry, Embiid or LeBron celebrating, but don't have an issue when Dame, Giannis or any other player does it.

In all fairness, refs have been letting attackers get away with pushing off the defender with their "off forearm" for years. Harden does it...LeBron does it.....everyone does it.

Only time an offensive foul might get called is if the attacking player extends their arm and creates noticeable space between them and the defender.

Giannis never really means it, though. And he only does it when it’s justified. Everyone else is the jerk.

NBA.com matchup data credits Simmons for holding Giannis to 2/8 shooting and four turnovers across 37-ish possessions on Wednesday night. Ooof.

We all know who DPoY is this year and it aint' the Greek.

Simmons and Giannis are the two best defenders in the league.

With all due respect to the traditional bigs, right now in the NBA a guy who can guard positions 1-5 is the most valuable defender in the NBA.

In the last month Simmons has player top notch defense vs:
-Giannis
-Luka
-D Mitchell
-Etc.

While a guy like Gobert may be an absolute force in the paint, he just doesn't have the ability to defend athletic guards, as evidenced by the night Simmons lit the Jazz up for 42 with Gobert as his primary defender.

This is one of the examples of how offensive players in this era are favored. Giving way to the gaudy stats that wow us

Let a defender do that and they are reviewing it for intent...

I agree with every word of this. Neither Giannis nor Simmons wanted any part of the other defensively last night. Giannis merked Tobias Harris once Simmons got in foul trouble.

According to game tracking on NBA.com...

Giannis was on the floor for 65 'partial possessions'. He had 32 points.

For 37 of those possessions, Simmons was guarding him.. He had 8 points, 0 assists, 4 turnovers...

Meaning in the other half of the game, he had 24 points, 5 assists, 2 turnovers.

As always, I hate Steve Clifford.

Orlando make a comeback and so he subs out the players making an impact to bring back his regulars... And then the lead goes away.

The Hawks have now won 7 games in a row, the longest active winning streak in the NBA. If the Hornets lose tonight the Hawks will be the 5th seed in the Least.

Lol, Orlando.

Please fire Clifford. Even though that ending wasn't on him, he still sucks.

Not too concerned.

Mitchell needed to break loose a bit so I liked seeing him put up 42 even with an L to the Wiz. He always seems to hit another gear in the second half. They need that from him in order to be a true contender.

No Conley, and although Ingles was money, Clarkson and Bogdanovic were cold as ice. That won’t always happen.

Westbrook also had a beast of a game to complement another great performance by Beal, happy for Russ. I’ve always rooted for Westbrook just because he’s always had so many haters.

Agreed.

Again, I still like that team, but they're not gonna be feared.

I was looking again at the West and the Lakers are gonna have no real problems with anyone.

The Clips really effed up by letting Trez go on the back of one poor series also.

That was nice.

Tough loss for the Jazz tonight - they have a pretty easy stretch coming up so have to see if that gets them back on track

Hawks are on fire since the coaching change

Hornets/Lakers in a close one. Been fun so far with both Lebron and LaMelo playing very well

It's not the offense that's an issue.

It's that they cannot defend versatile scorers.

6'1" Conley
6'1" Mitchell
6'4" O'neal
Ingles and Bogdon.

It's one thing to get ripped by Beal for 43 pts on 24 shots. It's one thing to get ripped by Westbrook for 35 points on 23 shots.... it's another thing to get ripped by both of them in the same game.

I'll change my tune if they can somehow manage to get a stopper before the playoffs.

And LeBron now 11-6 without AD.

Back in 2nd place and tied for the second best record in basketball.
