I love the format of this year because it makes people make tough and interesting decisions about what to do. If my NL team is still trending down and I have a record around .500 or worse, even if my AL team still only has a few losses, it might be hard to still finish among the leaders overall. Interesting dilemma of buy or sell in both leagues when one team is good but the other is not

Everyone is available for my AL only team. Looking for keepers.

Highlights- Cole, Meadows, Altuve, Bregman.

I'm not really looking to trade in the NL only. I'll probably just roll with Ian Anderson and Ke'bryan Hayes again next year. Half of my team is injured anyhow.

Edit- I've actually decided to hold Ohtani for now. Thought he went in the 1st round and didn't realize that he could be kept next year.

Considering my AL team is still doing well despite trout, sale, laureano long term on IL and adell not even calle up yet I'm very happy.

However, I think its time to make some moves

Giolito and his round 15 value isnt going anywhere. However, I have some interesting keeper options I'll throw OTB. Obviously im looking for non keeper value players maybe even a 1 for 3 if it helps me move up in the standings.

Out of the race? Want a keeper option let me tell you who you have

Matt Olson - Round 3 value next year. Outside of Guerrero, has been the best 1b in the AL this year, and is still very young. Would be a late round 1/early round 2 value likely next year

Nick Madrigral - Round 5 next year. For a points league, he is solid. He costs almost nothing for you and can be added into any deal

Jorge Polacno - Round 6 next year. Again, like madrigral not a big cost, but if it helps me get a non-keeper level talent who acts as a upgrade, sure.

Ramon Laureano Round 9 - He has been fantastic when healthy averaging 2.4 points per game. At round 9 value is a great value for anyone looking for a young high upside bat

Luis Patino Round 11 - This one is prob the toughest to get and right now is likely my second keeper. He is being streched out as a starter and has 19k in the 16 ip. His stuff is electric and could easily be a keeper next 10 years. I think he has a fantastic second half. I'd need some high end talent to move this value away

Jo Adell - Round 14. Want a keeper level player who could have a monster call up? Want a lotto ticket - cool. I do too. But, if it helps me in the standings to be a contender. I'll move him

Alex Manoah - Round 10. Could be FA pickup of the year for me. He has been a great SP for me so far. He has some real nasty stuff and is battling patino for my second keeper. Very young, great stuff, good lineup protection for wins (which doesnt matter much) but is always nice to think he has a great future in toronto. He will cost some serious value.

Miguel Andujar round 10.... ehhh prob not a keeper, but hes been raking lately. If you like him and have someone who is not keeper level round hes easy.

Also

Vlad Guerrero Round 1 next year. I dont wanna move him. Im so happy got him in round 2. He has been arugably the best player in the AL. Hes easily worth it next year. If i do move him. I need serious talent - maybe not keeper talent, but 2-3 people who can outperform him and you can keep vlad.

Right now my toughest choice is Giolito and Patino/Manoah/Guerrero next year. Make it easier for me. Give your team a chance for some keeper options end of year. Give me a chance to repeat. Lets make it happen

also looking to compete in NL. Although not nearly as much keeper value type of talent there. Again, its guys who are keeper level, for non keepers who can help me win a ring. So if you are out of it, one or more of these guys interest you lmk

Trent Grisham Round 3
Kevin Gausman Round 5 (i mean, hes my #1 keeper right now and playing exceptionally, would need something huge)
Tommy Edman Round 6
Kenley Jansen round 7
Austin Riley Round 8 (prob my second keeper)
Patrick Wisom Round 10
Keston Hiura Round 10
Spencer Howard Round 14
Jonathan Gray ROund 15
Hector Neris Round 16

Yeesh, big dick punch this morning as my AL team played well but got the loss, NL team got the loss, AND it appears a stat correction of some sort has changed last week's matchup against Dbacks from a 1 point win for me to a 1 point loss Wonder what it was

had this happen in my CBS league coup weeks ago....ended in a 1pt loss...i was 8-0...stat correction happens on like Tuesday making it a Tie--and i won tie-breaker----then a full week goes buy and i lose the next week..and another DIFFERENT stat correction gets applied back to week 9...

so i went from 8-1 to 9-0

then went from 9-0 to 8-2 with the real loss and stat-corrected loss...that was fun

It is nice to take the win in both the AL and NL to take the overall lead.

Having my AL keepers be Lynn and Yordan is a blessing and a curse. My team definitely needs some SP help to have any shot at the playoffs, but it's hard to be a buyer for top players because my best keeper options are also two of my own top players, and I doubt I can get enough of a haul in an AL only league to make it worth trading one of them. Also hard to be a seller and look for keepers, as it will be just as hard to find keepers better than Lynn and Yordan.

Will probably just have to sit on my AL team for this year and base my selling/buying decisions on my NL team.

I think I'm back in the lead now after getting back on track with wins in both leagues this week. This league is really fun though as it's almost impossible for anyone to have locked up a finish in the money until the last 2 weeks of the year

I haven't checked, but I am sure you are right. My AL team is injury plagued and it is very difficult to see me staying a competitive team there if I don't either cut ties with some of them or they come back healthy soon.

i like the league but i think i would want either less teams (not ideal since everyone is in the league...haha) or maybe increasing keepers to 3 or maybe 4...

i say the league is too big because nowadays teams are very quick to IL someone...and we have a few spots but its still reallllly easy to have more than 3 guys on IL...and the waiver wire is legit useless 99% of the time...like i have felt pumped up to add guys who are hitters with 60pts on the year...or a SP who avg 4.3...

like there is so little chance to improve throughout the year...even trades...with only 2 keepers...if a team has 2 really good ones then no trade you offer is worth it to them...or if you have a really good team you dont want to trade proven guys for unknowns because your replacement option is such garbage that its a BIG hit to your current season

These are fair points. I feel like part of the point of AL/NL leagues are how shallow they are and the challenge that comes with that, but the FA pools are pretty barren, and the point on trades is fair for sure. Can be difficult to make many improvements to the team throughout the year. Tough line to walk

I'd be in favor of moving keepers to 3 (starting next year obviously). The last point here combined with what bn2cardz said about injuries is exactly what I am facing in the AL league. Have had 2 of my top 3 starters out for several weeks, which has led to a drastic decline in points. Yet, it is almost impossible to do anything about it with my 2 keepers being two of the best players on my team, as well as having some of the best value in the league, so I doubt I can find anything worthwhile to trade them for.

oh yea...the AL i feel like i made a couple big trades this last week cuz i got Voit/Springer back on offense...those guys are good...but in AL only and with injuries...they are like getting back MVPs...but then lose Civale for a month +....

springer and voit were my top 2 picks i think and ive gotten like 50 at bats total...that is difficult to overcome for sure!

I obviously have no shot at winning it all and I'm pretty much set on my keepers. There is no incentive to trade to "help someone else out" with only 2 keepers. But that's ok, this is a unique league. I don't think we need to add extra keepers.

On another note, just so we are clear... When someone decent gets traded to a different league we lose that player right? We don't continue to get their stats and have a case where two different teams can own a player in the AL AND THE NL? I just wanted to make sure that loophole was closed. I remember arguing about this before but with the pandemic last year and the short season I sort of just stopped paying attention.

FYI our trade deadlines were set to no deadline. I set them for August 9th, just over 3 weeks away. That'll get us through the IRL deadline and still give teams a little more than a week after that to make trades accordingly

In the NL I went over my pitcher count yesterday. Not that it makes a huge difference, but it looks like I lose Stroman's 1 point, and keep Fedde's -19. Based on first pitch of 7:05 vs 7:08.

I would just like to say I was posted as 11th (AL) & 8th (NL) in the preseason power rankings. I will not win this league, but c'mon I'm in 5th and competing!
