Hit up two Targets today and boy do I understand the warnings about retail now.

(Before today I’d only opened Target/Walmart/generic blasters, and a couple of loose retail packs at my LCS.)

First one only had three hanger boxes (is that the right name for the 35 card boxes at $9.99?), so I bought them. Hadn’t ripped these before and they’re no fun. Cello pack, so you can see before you open it what’s in there (if you can see a yellow border and a deckle edge you know that’s all you’re getting. And you know instantly there’s no relic). And only two inserts/SPs per box at half the price of a blaster? A blaster pretty much guarantees you at least six, and usually closer to eight.

The other Target had blasters, so I bought them. Plus the last four hanger packs (20 cards for $6). The hanger packs are pretty awful too. One insert/SP per pack at $6? Terrible value.

At least I’m well stocked with base now. Let the sorting commence!

Has anyone redeemed the free packs from Target from the coupons they got off the blasters that were purchased online? Are they allowing you to do that? Thanks in advance!

Not last year and this year. Inserts are much tougher than in the past. Plenty of packs with only base cards.

Yes, they work fine. Did it today. They’re identical to the in-store ones.

Note that Target stores were redeeming the coupons for a full blaster earlier this month, but the coupon seems to have changed in their point-of-sale system / registers. (It would show as -$19.99 and flash a warning that the supervisor could override.)

Today it only worked for $5.99 off a hanger pack. (Or a free $2 pack of Topps Series 1.)

Thanks for that. I’m new to Heritage so I had nothing to compare it to.

I grabbed some photos after I broke some of my blasters so I have numbers for ten of them. Averaged 4.1 inserts and 2.6 SPs for a total of 6.7 “hits” per blaster. (Plus one purple refractor hot pack.) Very small sample size obviously.

Go to self checkout and use them with hangers. I’ve been buying one hanger and using the coupon to get a second free.

This is consistent with my results on about 40 blasters. On about 25 hangers I think I had 1SP and 1.5 insert for an average of 2.5 per hanger.

Yikes--that's a lot of blasters. I couldn't resist last week's deal so I bought quite a few myself and did pretty poorly overall. I didn't keep stats or anything but I think I did a lot better in the hangers I got free with the coupon than on the blasters.

At this point, if they offered Heritage at 90% off, I might pass...I can't stomach looking at them any more after last week's binge.

Peel off the coupons and redeem for hangars. Then rip them yourself! (If you can find anywhere with 88 hangars that is....)

400 ct sets take forever to sort.

I still have a 8 inch tall stack of SP's to go through.
