My current Jeter power rankings (could change once cards arrive):

1) King Saladeen
2) Gregory Siff

fairly large gap

3-8) some combination of Ermsy, Efdot, Baller, Grotesk, Taylor, Beck

fairly large gap

9) Thiele (may not keep)

fairly large gap

10) JK5 (did not purchase)
I initially liked the Beck Jeter because I largely disliked the others and the original image. But the more I looked at it, the less I thought it worked. Siff’s is my favorite. Saladeen’s borders really bug me a lot, but I agree with the gaps. I think the gaps between offerings may be some of the most interesting topics to discuss.

I’ll update my artist tiers Monday most likely.

It's been a while since I looked into this, but I think it can be different from state to state. And I think it can be as high as 125 years.

It's great to hear you looked into this as well. I do very much like your Blob Ruth collaboration. I think the price for the autographed one was good and grabbed one.

Don't overpay! I have a few left at $28.95:

My Jeter Rankings:
1- Saladeen
2- Beck
3- Ermsy
4- Baller
5- JK5
6- Siff
7- Taylor
8- Thiele
9- Grotesk
10- Efdot

Contrary to most- I dont feel Siff or Efdot's Jeter cards are strong at all. The Siff feels lazy to me and I dont like the image Efdot picked for Jeter. Thiele's card also was somewhat underwhelming to me as I dont think the drawing of Jeter looks particularly good.

In the back half I look for Cartoon and Keith Shore to really shine with DJ.

I love the RC logo on the Beck Jeter. I’m a sucker for that thing, and love seeing it pop up on cards that didn’t originally have it. Hoping to see a nice 620 with one of them one of these days.

My PR estimates for cards ending today, based solely on recent runs and the health of the set:

Griffey by Fucci: 6K-7K
Gibson by Rochester: 3,250-4,250

I feel the strongest about these numbers than any other estimate up to this point. The last two Griffey cards (Vides and Cartoon) have landed just north of 6K. While Fucci can be pretty polarizing, Griffey is as sure a bet as this set has, so since it is coupled with Rochester, the strength of this PR is more likely a reflection on the set.

Rochester has come on strong with Ichiro and now Gibson. Despite the acclaim for the Ichiro, it only printed 3,600 (which is still good), so I think that's just a little north of the baseline for this card given Gibson's lack of comparative popularity. There may also be a small 2-pack bump for being paired with Griffey, but I don't buyers will be carried away.

Man, I love the JK5 Jeter. It's one of my favorite cards of the set so far. The bow is clever and looks great, among many other fantastic elements of the card that play into JK5's style.

It's absolutely amazing to me how we all can have such differing tastes and opinions. We can completely agree on some things, and equally disagree on others.

Fascinating.

Money Bear #2 sounds like it will ship on Monday, and the JK5 companion #2 is out for delivery (for me) today. Still haven't received any updates from Sophia or Cartoon.

And so much for only picking up 3-4 cards this week, I think I'm going to end up with 6 of them. Have a great weekend, everyone. Cheers!

I had to go back and buy this one from you. It was the card that made me decide to go for the Jeter set, but I forgot to get it within the window. The more I looked at it, the more I liked it.

Andrew Thiele: Mike Trout
Ben Baller: Dwight Gooden
Blake Jamieson: Rickey Henderson
Don C: Tony Gwynn
Efdot: Jackie Robinson
Ermsy: Ted Williams
Fucci: Frank Thomas
Gregory Siff: Cal Ripken Jr.
Grotesk: Derek Jeter
JK5: Mike Trout
Jacob Rochester: Ichiro
Joshua Vides: Don Mattingly
Keith Shore: Mark McGwire
King Saladeen: Ken Griffey Jr.
Matt Taylor: Rickey Henderson
Mister Cartoon: Roberto Clemente
Naturel: Mark McGwire
Oldmanalan: Mariano Rivera
Sophia Chang: Nolan Ryan
Tyson Beck: Derek Jeter

A lot of my choices have to do with set continuity. The Oldmanalan, Cartoon and Thiele were picked almost exclusively for that reason. Beck's Jeter is my favorite non-Trout card so far. I have JK5 Trout as my favorite card overall!

You weren't the only one. I had a lot of secondary market sales on that one.

I guess I just don't enjoy the mixing of baseball with Lord of the Rings or Star Wars or X-Men.

I hate stuff like this:

I think some are incorporated better than others, the Jeter didn’t really flow well for me.

In somewhat related news, I am a big fan of JK5 basically telling people to F off if people feel his art was ruined by the packaging. While I think nice packaging is an awesome bonus, people should be buying the art and understand that’s what they are spending their money on for these companions. And if packaging ruins the art for you, then you clearly weren’t that interested in the art in the first place. Now if the box was advertised to be some magic weed smuggling device, then I understand the complaints a bit more.

I don't like those either.

I coach several youth baseball and softball teams. Some are as young as 6 years old. I teach them to throw in certain situations as if they have a bow in their hands. I have them visualize pulling back the string and releasing the arrow on a line straight to first base, for instance. Or from home to second for catchers. The JK5 card is a perfect illustration I can use to help kids understand exactly what I'm teaching.

I know it's not something collectors might see, but it's completely relevant to my baseball world. I love that JK5 saw it and was able to illustrate it so well.
