So you think a rested Lakers beating up on a (2021) Warriors team playing the second day of a b2b after a massive effort to beat the league's best team the day before suddenly means everything is ok with them? Mmmkay.

Doesn't matter if it was the Lakers or anyone else, the Warriors would have to have been the Warriors of old to have been a threat in this game.

Lakers are 5-6 since AD last played. They also lost the game he left early.

Of course the Lakers are going to be mediocre without him. That's the way the game works... you aren't as good when your best players don't play. The only team with enough firepower to offset having a superstar down for an extended stretch is the Nets.

I think the Lakers will be fine and Lebron will amp it up come playoff time. I'm hoping we get that Lakers / Clippers series we never got from last year.

I've really enjoyed watching the Warriors offense because Steph's gravity is beautiful to watch.

I created a clip of this play to show the affect of Steph's shooting gravity on the rest of the floor.

So here we see Draymond bringing the ball up with Looney trailing. Wiggins is in the left corner and Steph is left wing.

Steph sets the offball for Wiggins who cuts through the paint to clear just as Looney is coming up the floor to set a screen for Steph.

Wiggins clearing is important because it drags Schroder into the paint because they're switching everything to stay with Steph.

As Looney sets the screen (it was an awesome screen) his man stays with Steph and KCP doesn't switch. Not sure if that was supposed to be a switch or if Jones was supposed to hedge and recover but Looney was WIDE open on the roll and gets matched up in the paint against Schroder.

Super high quality look and this play exposes defenses that are playing Steph super aggressively over screens.

Watch the entire play here:

Wins without AD:

Minnesota
Portland (also without their #2)
Golden State
Indiana
Golden State
Minnesota (counting tonight as a win lol)

Losses without AD:

Denver (game AD went down)
Brooklyn
Miami
Washington
Utah
Phoenix

I think it's pretty clear that they are not very good without AD. It's not like they are the worst team in the league without AD, but they are not good either. They've beaten one playoff team and lost to 5 playoff teams.

It's all pretty moot either way because it's the regular season and as long as AD is healthy come playoff time, they are fine.

Excited for his return. If he picks up where he left off, the kid has a really bright future.

So Lebron is now a part owner of the Red Sox.

Already owns the Celtics, might as well own the Red Sox too!

Again...

Bucks are 5-5 without Jrue
Nuggets are 0-2 without Murray
Mavs are 7-8 without Porzingis
I forget what, but 76ers are worse off with Embiid and no Simmons.

You take away a team's #2 guy and that team isn't going to be a world beater. Only exception seems to be Brooklyn.

So no matter how you paint it, 9-7 seems to be relatively decent being down a major star.

Totally agree. Just didn't know if some people were insinuating that LA would be fine without AD lol

The Lakers have won a few games against bottom feeders that they should win anyway without AD along with losing a couple they shouldn't have. They haven't beaten anyone good without him is all I'm saying. And it's funny to see some people act like beating Minnesota or GS without AD is one of the more impressive things this year lol

It's not... it's just the middle ground between:

"Lakers going to fall apart without AD"

and

"Lakers don't need AD to win a 'ship"

But we all know... there is not much room for middle ground here in Blowout.

True

The trade deadline/buyout market could shake a few things up. We all know the Lakers are going to get somebody that will be a difference maker.

I love breakdowns like this. If ESPN produced this kind of content, I’d eat it up. I don’t know anything about the intricacies of basketball despite watching plenty of it.

Still boggles me that Wiseman isn't getting more minutes. Why is Looney using all of the kids opportunity for development? Head scratcher any way you look at it.

I have no idea how Looney is in the NBA. He moves in slow motion and is non-existent on offense. I agree, it makes no sense why they aren't playing Wiseman more.

Wisemans defensive awareness is lacking big time. Draymond has commented on it in multiple occasions. He’s not where he needs to be on the floor and gets lost in rotations frequently.

Kerr can trust Looney to do what he needs him to do and the offensive upgrade he gets with Wiseman obviously doesn’t outweigh the lack of defense

The Hawks have now won 6 in a row since the coaching change and are back at 500.

"Kevin Love threw me under the bus last year, and is washed and needs to go and I don't care if people hear me say it" isn't necessarily dumb, nor does saying things through the media make one smart.

76ers with another win.

Clamped down on the Knicks and only gave up 14 points in the fourth, to win by 3.

Too far gone, man.

They've only improved from .300 a year ago to .500 this year.

Hobby has moved on with only a 20% win percentage bump.lol

11? They were up 17 with under 6 minutes left. They were up 3 with an 88% free throw shooter shooting 2 shots with 7 seconds left.
