Wow- 121 points in a single day is probably my season's best. Led by 48 points from Wheeler (2-hit CG shutout), 16 from CJ Cron (2 HRs, 7 RBI), and 13 points each from Springer and Jorge Polanco (combined 4-8 with 3 HR, 7 RBI, and 6 runs). And I left a combined 22 points from my hitters on the bench!

Whenever I play hollywood his team goes nuclear and my team doesn’t even take the field. Last time no hitter now I have starters not starting games because….potential rain.

Just not enough starts this week to get back in it.

Our 6 playoff teams are 95% locked in. The only team still at risk/still in the running comes from Bshea (7-11) still having a chance to win out and tie Yanks (10-8) if Yanks loses out. That would include Bshea beating Yanks next week to even up the first tiebreaker of head to head record at 1-1. I believe it would then go to total points for which Yanks leads by around 900 points. So there's almost no chance that Yanks slips out of the playoffs in favor of Bshea

Within the playoffs though, there's still a lot that could happen. Current seeding and remaining schedule-

1. Bosox 14-4 (Pcarl, Hollywood, Corner)
2. Hollywood 14-4 (Corner, Bosox, Silver)
3. Corner 14-4 (Hollywood, Dbacks, Bosox)
4. Todder 12-6 (Dbacks, Alex, Yanks)
5. Dbacks 11-7 (Todder, Corner, Alex)
6. Yanks 10-8 (Ray, Bshea, Todder)

What an absolute gauntlet for each of the current top 3 teams. Each of us plays both of the other two top 3 teams, maybe one of those will end up being a preview of the finals. Going to be a crazy battle for the two byes. Corner has the toughest schedule of us three as his 3rd matchup is against another playoff team in Dbacks, whereas Bosox and I each have a matchup against a non-playoff team in there too. Going to be a wild finish at the top for sure

The bottom 3 teams are going to really jockey for positioning too. Todder and Dbacks each have 2 matchups against playoff teams, Yanks has just one but also has a matchup against 7 seed Bshea who will be trying to play spoiler. I think Todder could still sneak into a bye position if things fall right for him, I don't think that's possible for Dbacks at this point since the top 3 seeds all play each other still. But Bosox, myself, and Corner could all wind up between 1st and 5th, Todder could likely end up anywhere between 2 and 6, Dbacks' range is probably 3 to 6, and Yanks could wind up between 4th and 6th. It's going to be a wild finish here

Going to be an interesting 2 weeks as I play against Corner and Hollywood. Taking a look at potential seeding placements, it looks like I can only land in 1st if I beat Corner in our matchup next week. Otherwise, this week’s matchup against Hollywood will be critical in securing a bye week. With DeGrom and Trout scheduled to come back week 2 of the playoffs, this will be a critical 2 weeks in making sure that I am still in the running when my 2 studs come back. Extremely fortunate that my team hasn’t had too difficult matchups as of yet as my team hasn’t really been performing well with all of the injuries to Rodon, Darvish, Rogers, Contreras

Tough loss for me this week. Had a solid showing, but I'll drop from a 3-way tie for 1st, down to sole possession of 3rd. It's a good sign my team was able to hang with a top team in the league despite getting 0 points from Wheeler, Beiber, Julio Urias, and Kenta, but hopefully I get some of them back and pitching well soon. But likely my last shot at snagging a bye will be this week and won't be an easy one against Bosox

Fork in my team. Outside of Sale coming back solid my pitching has fallen off a cliff.

Tough week against Corner with Bogaerts and Barnes getting COVID. Bye week will come in clutch this week as DeGrom and potentially Trout come back for around 2/3 of playoffs

Excited to be back in the playoffs after finishing in the bottom half the last 2 years. My best finish in this league is 5th, and I think this year's team is the best I've had, so hoping for a new personal best. But Yanks is a real hard first round matchup, way tougher than his 11-10 record suggests. It hurts not having been able to pick up a win against Bosox or Corner in the last few weeks and sneak into a bye spot. And overall I feel like my team's scuffling a bit. But ready or not, here we go! Good luck, everyone

Wow, I've come back and hold a 10 point lead heading into the final day of the matchup. Going to be a close one, both Yanks and I have had a good week so far and it's anyone's game

Noticed that Yanks has 3 pitchers going today when he has 11/12 starts filled. Not sure if ESPN is correctly counting the points on the matchup between Hollywood and Yanks so might be worth looking into

I'm not sure if it'll end up mattering but Yanks is wayyy over the SP limit and I'll need to correct his points. Will look at it closer after dinner. Still got a lot of points from his bats (22 from Lourdes! ) so I think I'll still be a bit short. But it's going to be close

e- just saw Bosox's post above mine

Can someone double check my work on this? Want to be transparent

Yanks had 11/12 starts used heading into the day so should only get the 1 first start he used. Here's the starts and the first pitches of each game per MLB.com that are linked for each-

Luis Patino- 12:10
Patrick Corbin- 1:06
Taylor Hearn- 1:08
Blake Snell- 1:10

As such, only Patino's should have counted. Corbin (20 points), Hearn (14), and Snell (2) combined for 36 total points that should be deducted from Yanks' total

Unfortunately for me that still puts me 13 points back and I'd need Judge and Omar Narvaez to put up that many more points than Alonso and DJLM, so it probably won't end up mattering. But there's still a small chance

Kris Bubic is going to haunt my dreams. I picked him up several weeks ago and he promptly put up a -24 for me. I benched him the next week so of course he puts up +26

I elected not to start him today and instead rely on my offense, and guess what? +13 from Bubic, which as you can see above is the exact margin that I'm currently down by. Funny stuff

Yes, just checked and Patiño started first therefore should be the start that counts of the bunch.

Well there's little enough left still yet to happen where I can say I won't be coming out on top of this one. Can't be upset with how my team played though, can't ask for much more than a 350+ performance in the playoffs. I only put up a higher total in 4 normal-length matchups this year, including a week where I got a no hitter. Sometimes you just get beat. Congrats on the W, yanks

Looks like it will be a 3rd straight (?) championship matchup of Corner and I. Extremely fortunate my bats came alive this weekend and widened the lead for me. Very tight matchup all week vs Yanks who should be a dangerous force next year with Acuña healthy

Well unless something crazy happens next 3 days looks like its bosox will be a back to back champion. Was hoping nola, wainwright and scherzer would do better then -5 between the 3 of them....

Lets see - I have a few starts left but no major arms going but hopefully could string some points make this a contest atleast.

Gonna be a really close one. My pitching hasn’t necessarily been great, but that has been offset by Juan Soto and my bats catching fire this week. Didn’t expect Nola to get hit so hard, but considering he still made it out with positive points after giving up 6 ER I would say that was a solid start. Hopefully I can manage a W and secure the back to back. Always put an asterisk next to the championship last season given the opt-outs and the roto style format we operated in so definitely would be nice to secure the title in our traditional league settings.

Weird fantasy baseball stat: Adam Wainwright is currently #8 SP in our fantasy league, outperforming guys like Gerrit Cole, Gausman, Alcántara. Didn’t realize how hot he was on Corner’s team all season

He’s been vintage wainwright since like June.

Good year, sad the team performed as poor as they did.

Offseason will be interesting for me. Does Bauer come back next year? How is verlander injury? Does Scherzer, Grienke going to maintain or play poorly due to age. Does Wainwright retire?

So while there are a ton of questions here is my prelim 20 keepers and trade block
1. Catcher: Salvador Perez
2. First Base: Jose Abreu
3. Second Base: Max Muncy
4. Third base: Austin Riley
5. Shortstop: Francisco Lindor
6. Outfield: Bryce Harper
7. Outfield: Starling Marte
8. Outfield: Charlie Blackmon
9. Starting Pitcher: Aaron Nola
10. Starting Pitcher: Max Scherzer
11. Starting Pitcher: Zack Grienke
12. Starting Pitcher: Adam Wainwright (if doesnt retire)
13. Starting Pitcher: Trevor Bauer (if not in jail)
14. Starting Pitcher: Nathan Eovaldi
15. Starting Pitcher: Ian Anderson
16. Relief Pitcher: Liam Hendricks
17. Relief Pitcher: Craig Kimbrel (If club option not picked up/is a closer)
18. Relief Pitcher: Mark Melacon
19. Starting Pitcher: Justin Verlander
20. Shortstop: Dans Swanson.

So right now my trade block looks like Mccutchen, Santana, Donaldson, Keuchel, Senzatela, Richard Rodriguez and Jon gray. Not the best group but def some guys (santana/donaldson) i wouldnt mind keeping so could look to other deals down the line. Really afraid next year is my last year with this core just given all the issues. May have to blow up the team next year

Extremely fortunate that my team caught scorching fire during the playoffs after missing DeGrom/Trout this season. Going to have an interesting offseason ahead and I definitely am looking to build upon all of the moves made last offseason and during the season. I will be updating my trade block shortly and be looking to make some moves. Here’s to the offseason!
