I didn't see it, but I believe there was a display at The National with 30 (?) Jordan Rookies, wonder if any of those would cross...

And wasn't Probstein looking for a Black Label BGS 10? Not just a BGS 10?

You gotta get on that Probstein mailing list...those 30 are his, and none crossed to BGS 10. Said he turned down 6mil, too, which seems crazy. Sell those duds and buy that elusive BGS 10

Looking only at the certifications with recorded sales through PSA's APR, Rick's average purchase was around $291,000.
8.7~ million cost, if that average carries throughout the 30.
I noticed at least three copies are currently deactivated.

The easiest way to separate the biggest sucker against the more mild suckers is if they buy BGS 10s or black labels

Anyone notice the prices for the 7,8, and 8.5 at the National. They were all very competitive

7= $7,000ish
8= $8,500ish
8.5= $10,000ish

Are these considered high, low, etc.?

7's are right around $5000
8's are around $7500
8.5 might be a good comp, not sold much.

Are these National prices? I had planned to look but forgot and focused on other cards instead.

Imo there’s some strong variance even within the same grade, depending on the centering. Well centered copies sell for a premium

18 for 31 (58%), should be even better but against my better judgment I sent a couple with 9 subs which were some of the failed crossovers

Anybody know what the deal is with the 1985 Prism/Jewel Stickers? What company manufactured them or how people were able to get them? Just curious. thanks!

Didn't they come from candy vending machines?

Nat Turner shared some interesting 2023 grading stats on the Jordan Fleer today.

Twitter thread, if you would like to view source.
https://twitter.com/natsturner/statu...KEgaqmMKw&s=19

Of the 2,051 copies PSA has received this year, 21% (447) were determined to be fake/counterfeit.

Would be curious to know how many of the 1604 authenticated copies were legit 1st submissions, vs re-submit.

Regarding new PSA 10's, Nat didn’t provide a total and deactivations/reactivation will impact the population, but Gemrate shows the population has grown by 3 over the year.

With the incompetence of PSA, it makes you wonder how many of those slabbed were fakes. What a joke.

good rule of thumb for awhile for grades 1-8 was 1K per number grade but they've come down. $4500~ for 6 w/ good centering

chart
chart at the bottom of this page shows a brief peak over $10K and they've settled at around the $3500 mark

so at about 1/3 of its brief early '21 pandemic peak, while the 9s and 10s are down to about, what, 1/5 of their peaks

There is no way I would pay that much for a 6.

These have room to either go down, or stay stagnant for a long while.

Be patient

Interesting to read that Probatein was propping up the psa 10 Jordan rookie market by purchasing every copy that fell down to $140,000.

Value manipulation at its finest.

Jordan's only rookie the Star 101 will continue to funnel more money too it thus the 3rd year Fleer will continue to get liquidated more and more! Sell if have copies you don't want to be holidng the bag when the bottom falls out.
