It's just because they're going to sell this stuff to breakers. Prices on eBay are $500 for a box. You figure 13% so $53 off is 447. Then you have taxes. You're making like $75-100 profit off of this. That's like 1/6 of the cost of a product you actually want to buy and open. This is topps really just trying to sell the other stuff that they have the license for. Those of us who got into this for baseball are just going to have to adjust to the fact that they're only going to offer a few baseball products a year in this. Curious that Museum collection is one of them as I seem to recall Museum collection was relatively easy to get last year. With them reducing baseball products, I myself am not sure I'm going to renew next year if it's still around $200. I have 0 interest in UFC or soccer. But, that's just me.

Keep in mind that the actual sale on eBay was $399.99. After fees, shipping, taxes, etc., the profit is minimal. And unless this surprises to the upside (which it could), that's about as good as it's going to get most likely. The good news, though, is that you probably won't get crushed on it either.

Keep in mind that Topps gets the NBA license on October 1st--if they offer 1-2 basketball products for club members next year, the club membership will be more than worth it..the NBA draft class this year is loaded with talent and potential stars.

Should be a pass for almost everyone I would think. I enjoy price comparisons and ratios. I do it for fun, even when I am not buying something. Helps me keep my numbers game strong. When comparing to the regular Hobby Chrome, this one appears to have one of the worst ratios I have seen so far (where price should be versus where it actually is). It isn't always an exact science but it gives you a ballpark. If "flipping" I would expect people to lose money if there isn't an immediate outlet to get out from underneath it. I expect a similar outcome to WWE Sapphire. Priced way to high, crashes hard, stays low, and maybe makes tiny buck or two increases down the road but never really climbs again. At least not significantly.

Fall has prime baseball products heading this way.
Football is about to get really hot.
Basketball license goes to Topps in just a few months.

Save your dollars on items that will have really nice appreciation. These UFC Sapphire boxes will have to be loaded for these prices to not dip.

Right and those are the initial sales. People are already posting their pre-sale boxes for less and none of those have sold yet. $380 - 13% is $330. While 10% sounds like a solid ROI, there's also the time to list it, pack it, hope it gets there, and hope the buyer isn't a you know what. The juice ain't worth the squeeze.

If I were a UFC fan or collector, I would have been all over the 1st ever sapphire release. But there doesn't seem to be much excitement to bother with this one.

Normal Topps chrome hobby is 2 auto's for $150. Sapphire being one auto for $200 seems pretty rough. I'm definitely passing on this one.

Agreed, just letting people know since this thread is all about the sapphire -- not even sure when it released. I have seen some of the retail stuff go on light discount so I'm not touching any of this stuff ...

I bought three boxes of 2021 Finest basketball to break. That was more than enough unlicensed bkb for me

Well they did "sell out" in the past 2 hours ... just checked and both cases and boxes are marked as sold out

They probably did not sell out the way they wanted, so they take them off the market and sell to the breakers..

Is it FedEx? If so, the weight means nothing. My Panini shipments never display the correct weight. I've gotten 10 pound cases that showed up as 1 pound in tracking, and 1 pound boxes that showed up as 10 pounds.

I had this problem also. I called customer service last week and was escalated to a supervisor. She had mine fixed within 24 hours and was very nice and helpful. I received the TC Sapphire tonight after not ever receiving a email for the last release. Shoot them a call tomorrow. They are able to fix this.
