No email by now, you're not a winner.

In the grand scheme of things, thats a higher than average Discord winner number. They let out a decent amount of this. (Of course, decent being maybe 10% tops of the print run... soo... yeah)

VIPRIPS already ran a case break (10 boxes). 6 autos in the case, Ancient One /50, Silvie base, Thing base, Warlock /25, Hawkeye /50 and... Wolvie/X23 Dual /10. Quicksilver /5, Sersi /10, Ronan /15 and Mighty Thor /15. I think one of the boxes had the dual and a base auto.

Given they got rid of the chaff autos, at a higher cost, a Sapphire case seems to yield much better autos than regular hobby which at most cases would have any one of the 6 autos as the "hit" auto in the case. That said, of the 320 cards in the case, still Dr. Ho's, Isiah Bradley's, Recorder Rim and Lek, and Happy Hogans.

I wonder if Topps juiced this case given the timing of the break on release day.

This morning's EQL loss better equal a Chrome Sapphire Basketball win.

You omitted an important detail about the case being for a "group breaker".

So that answers my question about the case being juiced in the last sentence lol.

Yeah, highly suspicious.

I’ve won quite a few EQL lately. No bots or anything but I do think as you spend more you win more. This includes shoes and stuff.

I think it's people are losing interest in collectibles so there is less competition.

Nothing on case or loose boxes. This is so fun being MCU collector.

Also you really have to be pretty well off - spending savings - or racking up debt to afford wax rips these days.

Most cases are the price of a family vacation. Cheape hobby boxes are a week of groceries.

Your average joe is priced out.

And people wait in a queue to hand Topps close to $4,000 for 10 32-card boxes of Sapphire. Or pay double that on the secondary market.

I hope these folks aren't spending retirement money on wax.

Going to be a lot of people sleeping under bridges in 20 years.

While there are plenty of wealthy people in the world, I do think the average collector is slowly getting priced out. Many established collectors are moving more towards buying singles and/or focusing on filling in older sets in their collection than buying new wax.

The number of people who are 100% in it to flip new releases or create online content will eventually start declining as the secondary market (the people who actually collect the stuff) start limiting their spending on new releases.

I agree but might add that wealthy people generally became wealthy through smart decisions. They’ll be the first to see that crap like Pixar Gold coming out at $400 a box is the opposite of a smart decision.

I really think Fanatics overpaid for all these licenses and rather than price things reasonably to fan more volume, they’re going the Vegas route to price things as high as they can to squeeze their whales.

I would say the majority of modern wealth is inherited not self made. So the twelve year old kids walking around with thousands of dollars in slabbed cards likely didn’t build that wealth through smart decisions. They were born into it. A lot of people have FU money the average person can’t understand. The fake it til you make it influencer wannabes don’t have that security blanket and will fade out eventually.

Lot of great points here. It vexes me how non-breakers can have the coun to buy cases of overpriced product, and I'm now in the camp that most--not all--but most inherited theor FU money. And that will never change really, at least not for us, so what do the card comppnies do? Charge what they can get away with.

It's the top 10% keeping this economy and card game in business. I was down at Disney World over the holidays and the prices for tickets, rooms, food and souvenirs was were obscene- still the Parks and resorts were full. Same with this, some big fish buy 5 cases and the hits were not enough for the money out there wanting them. There weren't enough /5 or /10 Deadpools for the ones who wanted them.

That said, if you are a collector in your late 20's or mid-30's making 60K to 80K living on your own (no mortgage, kids, loans paid off, etc.), buying a 3-4K case or card isn't too bad.
