I had to look up James Gunn because I had no clue who he was. He was married to Jenna Fischer.

I wish someone could explain the logic of releasing I Know What You Did Last Summer two weeks after Jurassic Park, one week after Superman, and one week before Fantastic Four? Would not be surprised to see that movie make less than $10M opening weekend and suffer the same fate as Megan 2.0.

Does that franchise even have that strong of a fanbase like Scream or Halloween does?

It likely didn’t cost a ton to make and probably could be good counterprogramming for moviegoers that are tired of super hero films.

Saw Superman at one of the Prime screening last night. It was great. It's not a perfect movie, but better than most of the Snyderverse movies. I'd probably only put it behind the first Wonder Woman movie.

There will be a lot of people that won't like this only because of the political landscape in the US. It also portrays the people of Metropolis as pretty gullible who will believe anything posted on social media and regular media. This may hit home for too many people.

There will be a lot of people that don't like this because it's not Zach Snyder.

This is also unabashedly a James Gunn movie so if you are not a fan of his you probably won't be a fan of this.

The movie is self contained with no setup for other movies except for one scene near the end of the movie that was really surprising mainly because of how the character is depicted.

All of the actors were great. I don't think there was a weak performance from anyone.

This is a Superman movie. Clark is in it maybe 20 minutes and part of that was him dressed as Clark, but speaking as Superman so it's even less than that if you take that out.

The movie is mostly family friendly. There are some curse words and some middle fingers (which were hilariously). There are a couple of parts that may be scary for very young children. Definitely way more Christopher Reeves Superman than Henry Cavill Superman.

Superman movie was not bad. Gives some good chuckles and is a good setup for the future DCU movies.

Though the Tron movie preview that movie looks like a big budget bust.

Any DC movie from this point forward will be better than the Snyderverse movies. That was the bottom of the DC barrel.

It sounds like Gunn followed the lead of the greatest superhero film ever made, "Superman: The Movie" when making this film. This is probably the main reason why this might actually be a superhero film worth going to the theater to see.

Superman on pace to top a $100 million opening weekend. Would be the first DC movie to have a $100+ million opening weekend since Wonder Women in 2017.

Superman was 6/10. Not great, not bad. Too many dumb people in it.

Saw Superman today. 6.5/10. It was entertaining enough. Definitely had some flaws to it and some head scratching moments. I liked it more than any of the snyderverse films.

"Superman" is projected to have a worldwide opening weekend box office between $230 million and $250 million

I passed on Superman this weekend. Just like Jurassic, it doesn't look unwatchable, but most people think it's a 5/6 out of ten. It just doesn't look like anything special.

Are there any super hero movies above a 7? It’s all the same

That's the problem. Madame Web really might be the only one I wouldn't even watch for free, but I just don't think I'm dropping $60 bucks for a mid movie anymore. Deadpool vs. Wolverine was the last superhero movie I gambled on.

I may see The Mandalorian if it ever makes it to Theaters but that's about it for all the announced movies for the foreseeable future. Just catch it when it comes to one of the streaming services. The days of feeling left out if you aren't there on opening weekend are long gone.

So after it's big weekend, is the Superman movie a success or is it too early?

They are calling it a hit. Whether or not its success is enough to carry forward to future DC movies (or even MCU FF in a couple weeks) is definitely still up in the air. Good start at least.

Saw Superman on Saturday. Corenswet is a good Supe. Hoult was an absolutely terrible Lex. His performance was awful.

$217 million worldwide opening weekend...

Needs $500 to "break even:...well see if it keeps up, or drops off in 2 weeks to F4..

It's whole job was to get people excited about the DCU. It seems to have done that. It has an 83% critics rating and a 93% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The amount of money it makes is secondary to that.
