C: William Contreras

OF: Jarren Duran
OF: Juan Soto
DH: Shohei Ohtani

Obviously Mookie was hurt, but pretty wild that he's over 5 WAR in under 100 games. Probably misses on this list, but he's been near MVP level while healthy.

Yeah I don't think Lindor has a real chance. GG SS 30/30 is nice but the 260ish/830ishOPS just isn't enough. I'd guess some NY guys vote for him (especially if the Mets make the playoffs) based on DH's don't deserve the MVP, but Ohtani will probably win comfortably.

Lindor may peel a few 1st place votes away from Ohtani from the "DH should never win MVP" crowd, but otherwise will finish a distant 2nd. Great season for him though, especially with his (and the Mets') craptacular start to the season.

Disappointing to see Witt and Judge both be complete ass down the stretch. Hope they turn it around these last two weeks.

And he dominates yet again. The Cy should be his after tonight - he only has 2 more starts left. Hell of a comeback season for him.

The Dodgers should be very worried about facing the Braves first round of the playoffs - if they play like they did tonight they are done quickly.

Like I said before Greene got injured, it was Sale's to lose. And he's done nothing but continue to perform and a Cy Young level

It's kind of refreshing to see two of the best players in the game have protracted slumps. It shows they're just like any other player in that regard. It makes the grand slam Judge hit yesterday all the more exciting. Seeing him hit home runs to right field at Yankee Stadium on a regular basis just isn't that interesting. But hitting a clutch homer in the midst of a slump is what baseball is all about -- the randomness and uncertainty of the game.

I know he isn't going to win the Cy Young and I am not saying he should win it but my goodness Clase... You could argue MVP

You think Clase has an argument to be more valuable in 60 innings than say.....Aaron Judge or Bobby Witt?????

I mean, come on.

I mean, let's try and be at least a little realistic. a reliever vs 2 position players with double digits WAR.

I'm excited to hear his defense.

Where did I say that??

But if I'm looking at importance to the team, the Guards aren't where they are without Clase, to me with his numbers that is MVP type stuff..

To be clear I never said he should win it.

I can argue it, but it doesn't mean I said he should win or is more valuable than Witt or Judge you made that up.

Clase's numbers and his importance to the team, setting the saves record for the club here soon, 4 lowest ERA in history of the game so far. He has been dominant. Does that mean he should win it... Nope... Argument/Discussion worthy IMO yes.

You said what you said, I didn't twist your words.

Please, give your argument!

I said you could argue... I never once said he should win it. There is a difference. So yes you did take my words out of context at least.

I mean Smith or Gaddis could step in the closer role and maybe not put up the same numbers, but still be effective closers. Where are the Yankees and Royals getting another Judge/Witt?

"You think Clase has an argument to be more valuable in 60 innings than say.....Aaron Judge or Bobby Witt?????"

And I questioned what you said. Look, everyone can have an opinion. It's totally absurd to think a reliever no matter how historically great it may be could have an argument over guys like Witt or Judge with the seasons they're having.

I get it, your a Guardians fan, but he's 100% objectively not even the most valuable player on his own team, and again. a 70 inning reliever or a guy hitting .321/.455/.692 in 148 games. What's the argument?

I never said he is more valuable look I'm a fan and I get that but if there is no Clase there is no Guards in first place IMO.... maybe argument was the wrong word. and in hindsight I get where you are coming from.

So Clase is in my opinion interchangeable for MVP of his own team with JRam. No one else is there as of right now.

I don't see Smith/Gaddis doing it like Clase I just don't. They fit their roles very well. And again I'm not saying he is more valuable than Judge or Witt. I just think with the historic season he is having that he it was a discussion piece, but apparently all it does is trigger people.

The only difference between this season and 2021 and 2022 is one meltdown.
