Today I made over $13,000 on the 100 Fauci cards I ordered. I know I'll get a number of returns, but I'll still come out with massive profits today.

Wow, that's amazing! I bought a 5 pack for birthday gifts / stocking stuffers. Now I am thinking I need to find new birthday gifts / stocking stuffers

I bought 20 Fauci cards.
But I don't presell, and by the time the card is in my hand, I suppose the market will be flooded with this card and value will go down quickly.
But still, if it's around $150 now, maybe it won't go down below $50.

I think no matter what you are going to come out just fine. List as soon as you have them in hand though. I wouldn’t delay.

OK, they just did a story about the card on the local news. There is definitely a buzz going around on the card.

This was HUGE in 2016 and Fauci printed almost 6x as many LOL

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Topps-Now-B...p2047675.l2557

If you're selling now... I'd expect 85% returns once it cools off.

85% I don’t think is correct. A lot of new eBayers and non-card collectors are buying these because they saw it on the news. Most won’t realize until it’s too late that the price plummeted. I could see as high as 40-50% though.

My opinion is this card will drop to $50 or less once people get them in hand. 51k is just too many at this high of a price. Within a month the news about this card will be buried and forgotten.

Of course, on the flip side I’m sure there are 51k Trout Update RC out there and look at the price of those.

By year's end this card will be $5 or less.

Congratulations on your sales, man! I do not presell or I would be in the same boat. But yeah you've got quite a few returns coming back at you.

Comparing a packed out RC of Mike Trout to a made-to-order card of a doctor? Not just apples to oranges, more like diamonds to dust comparison.

How long can we expect until Topps ships these Fauci cards?

RE: Fauci

I bought 5 because I have friends who have worked with Fauci at the CDC for years so it would be fun gifts and the card will be a forever reminder of HOPEFULLY the weirdest year of my life (like my Topps Opening Day Red Foil set w/ the original opening day stamped on it).

I knew there would be a MASSIVE number ordered. 50,000 beat even my expectations. Thereby making me further believe it would be readily attainable at a low price (originally thinking ~20). So even at that someone is making a little profit. So congrats to flippers.

But $150? $200? $250? Insanity.

I was selling them at $25/card just yesterday morning. The reason for the jump to $200 is because of all of the national news coverage of this card. I firmly believe the price will dip WAY back down when:

1. The news coverage ages. This may take a week or two. If there is any new majors news about Dr. Fauci, it will bump all articles about this card into the far background.

2. The 51k cards start to arrive in hand and eBay is flooded, with a "race to the bottom" in pricing as sellers try to make a quick buck as fast as they can.

I was going to be happy at getting 10 dollars each. I had a points just sitting there so I used them for two 40 dollar off Topps Now coupons. I have 30 coming and am in to each card for about $1.80.

Prices just seem so unreal right now. At least that should help keep the bottom when it happens from making this a losing proposition.

Story on the Fauci card is already being buried on Google News and other places. Cards are back down in the $165 range (up from a high of around $200). I wouldn't be surprised if there is a steady drop in prices tomorrow or Thursday.

I purchased ten, but the one thing I will never do, is sell anything via PreSale.

Unless I have it in my possession, I will absolute never list anything.

That's just me.

As for those prices, just wild!!!!

For some reason, I did not buy the Luis Robert 1st homer cards.
Chase for parallels is a good incentive though.

The only people buying at these ridiculous prices are individuals who saw this card on ESPN, Today Show or heard about it on Sports Talk Radio.

They don't know a thing about sports cards and don't know how huge 51K is for a 'limited' print run, they have FOMO

Make your Topps money NOW, this may very well be the largest revenue generator for the 1st week of resale in the history of the NOW program

Who would have believed this? 2020
