I'm pretty sure by callup base chrome autos will be right around 1k ungraded as they are drying up. Which would (Ohtani aside) be the highest "regular" prospect ever! Just following completed listings is about as exciting as following his box scores. Usually movement in prices is weekly or monthly, his is daily.

For me... I'm just excited and keep seeing the price rise so I don't know what to do. I'm a Jays fan, so there is an emotional attachment. I have sold 3 Vladdy cards I have had (Purple Gem Auto, PSA 10 base Chrome, Elite Gem Auto 5/5) for $1250 profit total. I still have a blue gem auto and a base gem auto. I have $400 total into the pair. Profit wise I can sell and make a huge % on return. However, I also sold my Blue for $1200 like 2 months ago.. now I can easily get double... prices are just rising too fast. However, at some point I need to get off the ride before it starts going back down

I cashed out on his auto for a much bigger payday than expected. I need to throw some other stuff on the bay, hoping for a small feeding frenzy

I think it was actually YOU who I almost sold it to. They were selling just over $1100 and you offered me $1200... Very tempting, but obviously glad in the end.

I love the best. I picked up 4 for $40 apiece. 2 graded 10s and 2 graded 9.5s. Sold off a 9.5 but still have the other 3!

I would think more money flows into Vlad with this.

As far as injuries in general, it’s obviously always a risk. But most injuries can be viewed as buy the dip opportunities IMO.

I would think it would be a concern for anyone investing heavy in any player. All it takes is a freak injury or a Jose Fernandez type of happening and you're losing tons of money.

I think those who prospect with any regularity you just kinda take it with a grain of salt. I sold most of my Acunas on callup, I have 2 left and have already "made my money." When you think of the freak injuries or crazy situations like Taveras or JoFer, it's something that can always happen but you just have to guess right most of the time.

Most season ending injuries only have a minimal affect on prices short term. Buxton prices were high for a lonnnnng time when he was a prospect due to his ceiling. You have to just diversify how much and who you buy.

But overall I think stuff like this has a very light if any impact on where money goes. People who wanna spend hoping for the next big thing spend!(Insert Pink Floyd Video
