You got a great price too and helped me come up with a comp for my lot. There was a recent PWCC sale on eBay and MySlabs, both $550; but I think it’s probably close to double that now comparing prices to his other cards.

I love this card! Numbered to only 5. I think people forget how good he is. I know this team is loaded but honestly feel he could be better than all of them if he stays healthy.

Love this card. I've been actively searching for a decent priced/conditioned 1989 donruss design for a few years now and still don't have one. the upside/downside is that every single color variation of these throwback auto RC cards are all /5, so individually they seem rare, but there's like at last 10 colors, all /5. So that increases the chance i'll find one, but also increases the chance that a seller will list it for an exorbitant amount

Here's my pack-pulled version from shortly after release of 2016 optic:

There was a ‘17 Sapphire on COMC for $30, with a minimum offer of $27. I spent a few days debating whether that was worth grabbing, and then by the time I decided to go for it... Poof, it was gone.

Nice! I just picked up a 24 card lot of BGS 9.5s: Prism, refractors, pink Refractors, Sephia, a green and a purple. I’ll try to move them on here before eBay later this week.

Anyone here have an idea of what a 2012 Bowman Chrome purple refractor auto /10 is worth right now? It’s raw but looks great and can get it at $5k. Don’t like the idea of putting that much money into one card of a younger player but seeing the 9.5 Orange go for almost $10k and 9.5 gold go for $5.8 feel like it’s worth a lot more than the asking price.

An orange 9.5 sold the other day for $9,700, and a gold sold the same day for $5,855. (Both were PWCC auctions.)

Blue 9.5’s are selling for more than $3,000.

I’d say that price, for the auto numbered to 10, sounds favorable to you...as long as it’s in really good shape. I recall factory lines being particularly common in 2012 Bowman Chrome.

Appreciate the response that’s what Im thinking but am unsure how people view the purples now with the numbering changing since back then.

This is accurate and definitely key for these cards.

I love seeing Seager get some love! He’s been undervalued for far too long.

Fantastic looking cards in this thread!!! I'll add one that's not even close in "fire" status to most shown, but I bought this one on COMC back in 2017 during the WS. I like the Jersey number, great action shot and I'm always pleased when the card colors match the team uniforms. I think I paid .60 cents and it's probably not worth much more because it's a Panini product....but it looks good in my collection!

Love it. The color scheme on that looks great. Great looking card.

EDIT: Is this the “original” Bat Down and the Acuna a knock-off?

There’s a little bit of glare, so I can’t completely tell. But the centering doesn’t look offensive. (Wasn’t there a BGS 10 black label recently shown in here that had similar centering?)

Also, #1/10!!

Your concern about purple being overlooked is real—to an extent. I do think these cards are a little overlooked, largely because they didn’t last very long as PR/10. That said, when a player gets huge and the hobby focus intensifies, a card like this doesn’t fly under the radar anymore.

The front centering is pretty nice but the back left to right is off. But looking at the 9.5 on eBay it has the same centering and that got a 9 sub grade. I remember back in 2011-2012 the purples went for a good amount more than oranges probably about 1.5x. Even now if it’s at the same value as an orange or even a little under at the price I picked it up at I’m feeling great about it.

I should’ve grabbed one of these foils last year, when they could be had on COMC for, like, $6.

The surface isn’t great, but I’m just glad to grab one before a possible Seager rocket launch.
