Stupid meetings to find a new bar for ASU football game watching will not let me get there for the game.

On a side note I'm in an uber with a woman driver that has to be at least 65 in midtown. Pretty hilarious. She's petrified.

Only 65? Metsplaya would call her a milf.

They have Minor leaguers who can produce more run support than those guys.

Jon Gant is one of the pitchers going to #Braves from the #Mets for Uribe, Johnson

Damn it.

"NEW YORK -- Dodgers right-hander Zack Greinke will start a game this weekend against the New York Mets, Los Angeles manager Don Mattingly said Friday."

Overpaying? What do you think hitters cost at the deadline? If this is true we underpaid...

Montero's nice but we have a clear surplus, is not a power arm and does not fit in the rotation, and is still coming back from injury.

Not much. Gant is struggling in AA and Whalen is still only in A+. Two guys the Mets could do without, even if they become major leaguers.

I hope Jon didn't dedicate this one to his new son/daughter.

You kidding me? The Mets didn't have to give up crap for Uribe/Johnson.

Neither players are top 15 organizational prospects and I would venture to guess if they do make it to the majors they will be nothing more than relief pitchers with occasional spot starts.

I disagree

Gant & Whalen are both solid prospects. DeGrom was not a top prospect either, turned out pretty good. Uribe & K.Johnson do nothing to the Met lineup, they suck.

“In May, 2012, the Red Sox were working on a deal with the Mets for catcher Kelly Shoppach. Ben Cherington asked Sandy Alderson for a soon-to-be 24-year-old righthanded pitcher in the Florida State League who had missed the 2011 season after surgery. “The name? Jacob deGrom. Alderson seemed comfortable with the original idea, but checking with his minor league people caused him to tell Cherington he had second thoughts. So, finally, Boston received Pedro Beato.”

Report: Mets Almost Traded Jacob deGrom To Red Sox For Kelly Shoppach | Boston Red Sox | NESN.com

Long way off but we have 10-15 pitchers you can say this about, can't hold on to everyone.

wRC+ numbers in red, our team with 80+ PA under. I'd say they're improvements.

Does anybody know what happened to Marcos Molina? I remember reading earlier this year saying that he might need TJ surgery and he also hasn't pitched since May.
