I think many including you are taking it the wrong way. Nobody is saying that they're not buying any Tatis rookies because it's a horizontal card. Any collector is going to buy Tatis rookies. We're just saying it would look better with a different photo and also vertical. Nothing more nothing less.

Compare it to Acuna's or Soto's photo and if you like Tatis' photo better cool we'll just have to disagree. However, I do love his Heritage action photo though.

I really like it....it a great classic image without any clutter..clear focus on only the star player with the glove extending beyond the border.

For the past week it's been the only topic the Tatis threads (yes, threads with an s) seem to talk about. The talk dies down, and boom...you bring it back in. Not your fault or anything, since you said you haven't been following. And just for the record...I'm the biggest Tatis Horizontal fan on this board. SAPPHIRE UP!!!

I know this is a Tatis thread but what’s the consensus on NL mvp? It’s got to be between mook, Tatis and Juan. I sold my stake in Mookie so I don’t want it to be him...

I'd say you've nailed the 3 main candidates (at least as of the 1/2way mark) Soto may have missed too much time so his numbers would really have to stand out to be considered. Tatis might get extra consideration for his spectacular defense (so far) and the fact that his team which has been bad lately looks playoff bound.

Pads have been bad lately?!? They didnt lose last week. Unless you meant historically...then yes....they have been bad.

The rest of season projections have Tatis edging out Mookie by 0.1 WAR. If it's that close, Mookie has the default edge since there will be some voters more reluctant to give it to someone who's 21 and Mookie's team will have the best record in baseball. If Tatis can stay decently ahead in HR and BA then he could take it if WAR is neck and neck. But Tatis is a strained back away from handing it to Mookie

Yeah that's what I meant. That's why I pointed out that they are positioned right now to make the playoffs in large part to Tatis' contributions.

I don't know man, the voters for these awards have sort of stepped back a little from these staunch traditions in the past few years. It doesn't seem like team success is a requirement anymore, it doesn't appear that pitching wins really matter that much, counting stats seem to have taken a backseat to advanced stats. You may be right about not wanting to give it to a 21 year old but it wouldn't surprise me if he did win it.
