Yeah, you might get this back before Christmas. Your order could easily drift into next year depending on many holiday days CGC closes down. Coming from most of subs going to SGC, CGC is so slooooooow. SGC has my subs opened and started grading before CGC even starts their timer.

Kinda crazy because CGC has been fast with mine.

I ship to their PO box on my own. Not sure if that matters. but fyi

that and you can always text them, not sure if it speeds anything up but if something is -getting hung up could expedite.

My regular order arrived today. If their estimates are true, my JSA order should arrive in two weeks. I am more excited to see how the JSA order turns out.

Edit: Pretty pleased with this order. I will throw up some pics later. Got me wanting to submit another before the end of the year.

My small sub:

I think I am going to get all of 97 legends style cards in CGC holders - they look great.

Some Baseball

Who likes some HOF autos - The Cade was SGC 8. I couldn't find anything wrong. I think they looked at the ball at the top of the card and thought it was severly OC.

Football - happy with the Montana

Finally some Star Wars - the 3 Wonder Bread were SGC 7 green label. I wanted to see how CGC compares. The gold aurebresh is going for trade/sale

So the status of my order says Quality Control/Finalized but I already received a tracking number and it should arrive tomorrow.

The submission itself shows no scanned images and no grades. Is that normal? I assume they are just lagging but I guess I can be surprised in the mail...

After a few emails with CGC I was able to confirm that they do grade 1967 topps pin ups, which are 5x7. The oversized grading fee is $15 for non members, compared to PSA and SGC which are at $50. This makes sending my lower value oversized items to CGC a no brainer as I want them encapsulated for my PC and at $13.50 each these will look amazing!

Did they say if the slab is hard plastic? I feel like I read that their larger slabs are made of a soft plastic material.

I read a little more on it, and you are correct. Definitely not as appealing but still a good option,

Here is a video that shows them. They are sealed jumbo Card Savers. They should be under $8 for the quality to be authenticated.

Those look lame. I haven't seen what a tallboy basketball is like in cgc. Pop report only shows one graded.

I don't think you want to see one. PSA/SGC don't charge extra for these, so it would be silly to submit a tall boy or other card to be "slabbed" in their jumbo holder. SGC only charges oversized prices for cards larger than 3.5" x 5.5". This covers a lot of cards like Tall Boys, 1972 Icee Bear (3" x 5"), and even 50's Red Man cards with tabs are 3.5" x 4".

The only items I would consider sending to them would be them would be things like early 30's Wheaties cards, but they would probably be floating inside of the holders.

I've never submitted before. How do I determine the card value when submitting to CGC? Thanks for answering a newb question.

Just put down what you think it would be worth after it is graded. If you think it is a CGC 9, put that value of a card in that slab as the value. Return shipping can get more expensive if you declare all your cards way too high, so there is a penalty for doing that.

OK. So graded value, not raw value. Is this for insurance declared value purposes?

If something happens, I believe they have it in their policy that they will only pay fair market value before the grading price. I just put down what I think is fair and thankfully I have never had to use it.

My JSA order came back 25 out of 29 came back in slabs. Two failed autopsy, one inconclusive, one questionable authenticity. Two of those were LCS buys, so I knew they were a dart throw.

The weird part, were 4 that the card graded authentic altered. All saying coloring on corners. These are cheap insert cards, at least one was a pack pulled card. These are .30 insert cards, not something you would spend time coloring, lol. They marked corners on each instance, one all corners front and back. Something must be up with their scanner calibration, they do have whiting on the corners from wear.

Did anybody see the instagram post on the new super rare Pokemon card? I know nothing of Pokemon, but apparently they made only a handful of a special card feature a vice president. CGC slabbed it and it is going to auction. It is graded authentic, which could be correct. The embarrassing thing is they misspelled his name on the label!! If this is some super rare of a kind thing with all the cross promotion, get your spelling right!!!

My order was received on 11/8 and scheduled for grading within a couple days after.... still sitting in "scheduled for grading". I reached out to customer service and they said "its only been 16 days and bulk is moving at 25 days", so now i have to wait 9 more business days just to ask about my order. I know the response will be something like "return times are just estimates and not guarantees". If so this will be my last CGC order, even at $9 a card id rather pay more and get better customer service.

What is wrong with this statement from CGC? What do you want them to do? They are decent with turnaround times and you most likely have your card graded in the 25 business day timeline. CGC's customer service is 10x's better than PSA. SGC has quicker turnaround times, but you are paying $15 versus less than $10 and a better CGC slab. I am fine with SGC with vintage, but I really hate modern in the tuxedo slabs. Most Topps Now and Topps Chrome shouldn't be graded at all, and I sure as heck wouldn't use SGC for the same price with their specials for these ultra-modern cards.

You are rarely going to see a bulk back within a month. You arent getting better service elsewhere currently. They are doing a great job right now on turn around times all things considered.

If sending bulk expect 4-7 weeks.
