Went to WM today. I noticed it stocked but there was nothing besides some repackaged Pokemon.
I was looking around for sleeves and/or toploaders when I noticed a S1 Mega hidden behind a tray of Magic. I said I was done with S1 but I couldn't resist. lol |

It’s sad but you have to know when the vendor is coming and be there beforehand or just get dumb lucky. If you show up after she is already there, there’s a good chance you’ll be 20-30th in line. Word gets around extremely fast and twenty people will show up within minutes. Even with a limit, most of the good stuff is gone if you’re not one of the first dozen or so people in line, sometimes the stock can be so thin only the first 5 or 6 people make out with something decent. Early in the week the vendors might manage to throw everyone off because they switch which stores they stock on a weekly basis and you can get lucky. Later on in the week, folks have already narrowed down which stores are left to stock and hawk them so unless you can figure out what’s left and are willing to get up bright and early (5am) you’ll miss out on that too. It’s cut throat out here on the island Also, don’t bother with Walmarts lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It’s Baseball Card Day out here in my little town! Bitch and Ye Shall Receive, is my motto. But no, I ain’t waitin’ in no line for a $7 fix of baseball cards, so I again rolled into the electronics department at a crisp 3:15 and asked “you got any more of them ... baseball cards?”
And they did! “No one else even asked for any,” the kid says. (Which is why I figured an MJ insider was always cleaning out my store every week for the last 9 months). But, the good folks @ Meijer don’t need his corrupt ass no mo now, do they? They had already emptied 3 tubs of “product” it looked like, so I’m thinking somebody got their Panini maintenance injections this week, too. Some complicated large Pokemon packages of some sort were also still there. So I had my pick of the pickins: a half dozen blasters and a half dozen blisters with those crazy cool purple cards. I went with 2 purple pleasure blister packs and hit the Trevor Bauer ERA Leader card & the Dodgers team card in the first one. You so funny Topps, keepin’ me entertained all my life this way. Other distinctly infield single type hits included the Casey Mize ‘52 RC (one ‘52 per pack, just as I hoped, plus one ‘86er in one pack), and the fantabulous Ryan Mountcastle Rookie Cup RC that places him right in the company of perennial GOAT listers Conforto, Schwarber, and Devers. (I love Rookie Cup RCs - more Topps goodness). While in the more fielder’s choice type hits I found a Dane Dunning RC - you just never know with Pitchers - except the purple Bielak RC uhh yeah, no, I think. The final bit of Topps gonna Topps was placing the Keibert Ruiz RC in the same pack with the Will Smith card. I’ve seen that Topps movie before, though usually with cellar dweller teams that fill up checklist spots with too many journeymen utility infielders. And putting the starter and the RC in the same pack always works out poorly for somebody. So this season I’ll be watching baseball to see how that turns out. Topps Baseball, that is. The electronics kid also had no less than 2 fully grown adults, my age even, working this big retail event with him this week; the one dude was dressed pretty sharp, supervisor style. So methinks limits are sure gonna be enforced. The only flaw in the ointment was when I put the 2 blisters o’ goodness in my cart and went to wheel off towards the grocery aisles, where I hope they put the real deal American caught Shrimp on sale on time for all that Free Money next week. “Uhh, excuse me Sir, you have to pay for those back here, right now.” Just like a card show - you want some baseball cards, that’ll be cash on the barrelhead, son. I don’t quite get that part, but I guess no hard core flippers can be hiding their stash behind all the leftover sidewalk ice salt bottles that way. |

So I drove 90 minutes to a wal mart that has a nice looking card section and very few people in the store ever go up to the card section. I run into the vendor. He says no cards this week the mj holdings boxes are not in the back. He takes a few pics then leaves. Last week i got some optic blasters hangers and a mega. Such is life.

I got super lucky and ran into the vendor at a local Walmart right after he had finished stocking but he didn't have anything very good (at least that he put out...keep reading, ha). All he put out was some Hoops winter blasters, Sports Kings blasters, Pokemon ball tins, Pokemon single packs, and Pokemon First Partner Galar packs. He actually pulled some product for himself while me and another guy were standing there! He said he always grabs "a little" for himself after he puts it out and gives customers a chance... He claimed he had lots of Pokemon Hidden Fates and Shining Fates elite trainer boxes at home in a "treasure box". He said he doesn't collect and doesn't have a clue about anything other than they are valuable. He even told us he would be willing to sell some from his treasure box to us but had no idea of a fair price
Seems I know now why it's been so hard to find stuff around me even going on days when they stock. It's not surprising but still frustrating.

I’m pretty sure I’d be reporting that. I don’t know what mj or excell’s policies are in regards to employee purchases but my guess is that they wouldn’t be too happy that one of their reps is buying up product in front of their retailer’s customers and then trying to flip to those same customers. I also can’t imagine those elite trainer boxes are holding much value long term? I don’t collect Pokémon but I feel like when I actually see product in the wild, those are the 2nd most common things I see lately, right after topps chrome update megas. |

I know it is impossible to know an accurate number, but what do you guys think the approximate percentage of excel/anderson reps are who snatch the best card products for themselves and either hoard or flip them for crazy amounts? 5%? 40%?...even more?!

I think it’s probably hard to really know, but there are 6-8 different reps in my area and I don’t suspect any of them or backdooring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

These products are non refundable. So this isn't true.
