Seems like most (if not all) modern cards have kind of stagnated a little bit. Zion Prizm PSA 10's have remained relatively flat for a month or so. Ja obviously got cheaper, Luka and Tatum have been up and down but in general they've been dropping a bit too. I use PSA 10 base rookies to track this, so maybe it's a different story for numbered parallels or RPA's.

Thoughts on this card for $450?

Wanted some opinions before I pull the trigger. Should I spend that $450 on a different Zion?

just on a note about that pic, they've also used it on the Opulence base, a PSA 9 went last night for $1247, which is like 37% of a One and One /99 PSA 9. I don't necessarily know if that's where I'd spend my $450, but it's a gorgeous card. I have a raw and PSA 9 copy and love em

I'd probably still rather grab a raw or PSA 9 Optic Holo RC or Select Silver Prizm

I forgot about the Opulence! I love that one too. Such a shame that Panini just recycles pictures that way. At least it's a good photo.

The below is not financial advice to anybody, but just going to point out the difference in One and One and Opulence:

The base cards from Opulence in hand do not pop the way O&O does. They're actually quite flat. What Opulence does have is insane card construction:

If you want an amazingly crafted card, Opulence is the way to go. If you want an aesthetically pleasing card to display, go with O&O.

Full Disclosure: The 3 Lebrons above are all jersey #'d 23/xx. I had to pay 5x more to acquire the O&O jersey # Lebron than I did the 2017 and 2018 Opulence versions. That's not some humble brag, I'm just putting that out there incase anybody is salivating to try and corner a market. These transactions were private so you wouldn't know about them. Also, if anybody has the 2019 Lebron Opulence Jersey #'d base please slide into my DMs. Love to keep the continuity (and I'll obviously pay up for it).

Personally, I wouldn’t spend a dime on hoops premium anymore. It could’ve been a nice release but Panini killed it with all the retail parallels. Your average collector has no idea where any of them come from or how rare they are and I doubt they will want to do the research to find out. The only one I would buy if you can find them are the pulsar prizms limited to /50 that came in the factory sets. Even that’s a risk because they aren’t actually numbered.

I have learned that everything is cyclical and I have made the mistake many times of thinking a run on certain types of cards was "done" only to sell off and have the cycle repeat. Long story short, there was a HUGE run up on Prizm base cards, especially, PSA 10, in the last 1.5 years. It has cooled off for sure. But if you are a believer in Zion, there is plenty of time for that circle to come back.

If you think Prizm will still be popular in 5 years (I do), then a Zion Prizm base PSA 10 at $600 I think is still going to be a giant steal. At his current trajectory, his prices will go up for sure, whether next year or the year after or in 3 years, or in year 18 (see Lebron). I wish I could have gone back and bought Lebron Topps Chrome PSA 10s for $500 when I thought they were stupidly overpriced. Not making that mistake again.

Dont have many mid to high end Zions not know much about accurate market value on some stuff, but I had to have that 2020 prizm blue 199/199. Was able to snag it below $600. Felt like I was safe no matter what with it ending on a Monday afternoon...
Fair price or do I need to hope it grades well???

I think that $500-600 range is solid (although I think all Prizm is overpriced), but I passed on that one. back top corners look like an 8.5 or 9 to me

Wait. So he is 1st in PER now, according to ESPN.

Pels are officially one game out of the play-in spot, and the Warriors have just lost Wiseman's services for the remainder of the season.

Kings tonight. Need this one. Hopefully a second baptism for Metu.

There was something wrong with ESPN PER calculations. Everyone’s PER was inflated. If you looked at basketball reference, they had the right calculation. I think ESPN recently just fixed it.

Ultimately the Warriors are probably better than their current record indicates. But the west is a cruel mistress. Hoping we can see both Chef and Fatboi in the tourney....it's only right.

If the Bulls play like yesterday i will switch to Zion again, hope he can deliver again, would be nice to see him in the playoffs. Yesterday was really nice to watch him.

My first Zion card btw, nothing crazy, but i like the look.

Dubs are definitely more talented than their record shows, I agree with that. I’d love to see Pels vs Warriors in the play-in, but we’d need either Memphis or San Antonio to go on a losing streak and fall out of the picture.

kinda quiet in here. I don't see Z breaking any records tonight if the Kings keep playing like this. I love Fox but man he needs a new team. I just looked at the depth chart and it's all guards and centers. Harrison Barnes is the only starter-level player at either Forward spot, which is umm... not going to win you many games against a stacked West
