I'm not sure what the deal is with this. I checked a few days ago and all their PER's were much higher. It's not possible for them all to drop that much after a couple games. Either it was calc'd wrong before and they corrected it, or it's calc'd wrong now.

Wouldn't Jokic at 33 be the best season of all time for PER?

http://insider.espn.com/nba/hollinger/statistics It probably went up more after today's performance too. Bill Russell XXIV in 2nd. What a time to be alive. Peep Z's usg compared to some of the top MVP candidates tho. edit: yeah, nvm. Jokic is definitely still around 31 and in the lead. Something's wonky with the stat keepers.

Lonzo is a low usage guard that can drill a 3. He’s still an asset on defense. I’ve always said that his career going forward is a 3 and D. The fact that he can also create plays is just a bonus. He’s a perfect role player for Zion who’s being groomed to play full time point forward.
Adams, Bledsoe should be moved asap as they really don’t offer much especially at their pay scale. I still want to give Ingram and Zion tandem another season, an All Star caliber wing player capable of giving you 25-30 a night with very good efficiency doesn’t grow on trees. I also love how BI is accepting his new role with no complaints, he seems to be accepting the hierarchy order in this team. I’d rather see a coaching change than move Brandon Ingram at this point. |

I’ve been watching a few games and he has impressed me big time.
If he can avoid injury he will be amazing. (My 2 cents) I also just got this back from PSA so that helps. 8-) ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nope, not just you. Only Rockets game I've looked forward to all season was when they played the Pels a week or 2 ago. I get all Rockets game so I was stoked to see Zion. And then he didn't play and a single tear strolled down my cheek.

I regret not picking up a true RPA of Zion before the ‘Point Zion’ era began. This reminds me of when Carlisle gave Doncic the keys; same stat jumps.

Yep... I've had several I've been watching over the weekend and they all went quite a bit higher than recent comps.
At this point I'm almost just thinking about waiting until the offseason to get any 'big' Zion's, but keep going back and forth. These are PC cards, so if I pay a bit higher than normal, it's not really going to matter in the long run. Still can't help to want to do my best to get a good value though. |

![]() Here's my mediocre card contribution to a pump thread. Should have 4 of these but had 2 buyers back out. Such is life. There's a few more Zions I'd like to own but have been lazy getting around to them. |

Only seen two guys give Simmons trouble this year as a defender. One was Booker who was simply cooking on that particular night. The other is Zion. The combination of short distance acceleration and tight space agility are otherworldly. It also seems like Zion is moving away from the “just happy to be here” young player mentality and more into the Hulk smash mentality as his comfort level grows.

I think you are absolutely correct. Again, don’t want to sound sensationalist, but I really think we could see the biggest run up on a single player’s prices since Luka. For as undervalued as he has been in regards to his talent, who better to stack up on in the offseason? Last offseason, when I looked at prices vs talent, Zion and Mitchell were the no brainer buys. I don’t think the hobby could be dense enough to ignore the season he is having, regardless of what the social media boys are pushing. I’m thinking there will be a brief pause in prices ascending when the Pelicans season ends and then it’s going to start ratcheting up at a feverish pace leading up to next season. Obviously, I’ve been beating the Zion drum for some time now (as evidenced by my post history), but I really think we are all going to be asking ourselves why we didn’t buy more when he was so ridiculously affordable. I have the Hoops Tribute Zion because I was putting that whole set together, but I wish that they didn’t zoom in as much on that photo (or maybe it’s just the border obscuring more of Zion). If you look at the One and One card compared to the Hoops Tribute side-to-side, I think the composition looks a little better on the One and One. Of course, the price difference is massive, so I’m still happy to at least have that photo on one card. They also used the same photo on the Clearly Donruss Defying Gravity insert, which is more than the Hoops Tribute but still way less than the One and One.

Honestly, I would just say what you can comfortably afford. I only track what I can afford for the most part. There are sill disparities in the Zion market when you stack it up with Luka comps. I tend to try to buy up the ones with the most apparent gaps. This isn’t a comparison of Zion vs Luka, just looking at what similar cards sell for and noticing outliers. With 19-20, Panini did crank the presses, so there are some sets that won’t hold a ton of value and some high POP numbers, but there are still some great buys out there. One example for me would be Select Silvers. Easy buy at these prices if you have some extra cash. I find myself in a dilemma because I like to flip cards to buy “real life” things, but Zion is the one dude that I just don’t want to sell unless it’s to buy better Zion’s.
