I've seen Lugar's go for $50. Yes the set is very popular. It took me some time to get my set put together and I scoured EBAY and BO on a daily basis. When the cards actually show up for sale, you are competing against other members who are looking to build their sets. Sometimes you end up paying a lot more as a result.

I recently picked up a Sting as my first and only auto from the set. Sting was always my favorite growing up.

2011 we saw a spike in the price of the cards. All of a sudden Hugh Morrus was bringing $100 and Ultimo Dragon was $150 and all of the big ones were bringing $400-$500 which is about double from the year before. There were a few collectors battling it out over any and all that came up for sale. I haven't heard from one of those guys in particular since 2012. No contact of any kind. Since then the prices have come back to earth for the most part.

Oh ok. I saw the Sting and I jumped on it. I know he has signed tons of TNA cards but to me the WCW/NWO was always his nicest and only certified WCW auto out there. It was my holy grail. From a time before there were parallels or anything like that.

In 2010 and before Sting was $90-$130 for the wcw auto. It has steadily increased. Its probably my favorite in the set except for a couple of the midcard guys who will probably not have autos in any other product.

When Sting jumped to WWE, a WCW auto of his sold for $400-500 I believe. Last couple sold for over $200 on eBay. I saw on one checklist site that the following autos from 1999 Topps WCW/NWO Nitro were considered "Rare"

Elizabeth
Goldberg
Bret Hart
Macho Man
Rick Steiner
Sting
Larry Zbysko

None of those are particularly anymore rare than another. The big names weren't necessarily considered huge back when they released. If by rare they mean in today's market I could see maybe Elizabeth or Macho since they are sitting in people's collections. But before Macho passed his WCW auto was bringing $90 all day and was readily available.

Macho Man was a $90.00 card before he passed (God rest his soul)?????? Holy Crap. I always thought it was always a High Priced card never knew it was selling for $90.00 back in the day

With the exception of the unreleased cards very few in the set actually brought big money before 2010-2011. Variants of The Cat would bring a couple hundred. Alex Wright was always $100-$200. Eddie Guerrero and Benoit were a solid $250 or less. Scott Hall and Kevin Nash were around $100. Elizabeth $100-$150. Bam Bam $75. Macho at $90. Most midcard guys at $50 and lowcard guys at $25. I remember a Mysterio popping up on bids in late 2010 and sold for a bit over $700 and that was considered a lot for that card. Now it brings about double that. A Hardcore Hak showed up the same year and sold for about$200 and now that one can be $1800-$2500 (I know because I have sold 2 of them in this range).

This set will always remain to me as the greatest wrestling set they have put together. The only issue I see it having is some of the midcard guys now holding value due to sets like Leaf watering the market down. Don't get me wrong. I love what Leaf has done but it really hurt values of WCW autos of Buff Bagwell and Lex Luger for sure.

Anyone see the WCW PSA cards that sold tonight?

PSA 9 Ultimo Dragon sold for $66.00

PSA 9 Hacksaw Jim Duggan sold for $67.00

And a real shocker Kanyon PSA 9 sold for $179.00?????

Wonder why that WCW auto went that high

I bought the ultimo. Kanyon has been a $250 card in the past. It does not pop up often and he is deceased. Plus it's in the 98 set. The 98 set stuff tends to bring more money

That's a very weak price on the Hacksaw PSA 9. I'm sure the WCW autos will hold value, but Leaf might be affecting wrestlers also in the Leaf sets.

Very True...Ranges in the 100-150 range....But i've seen it top over 200 a few times. I sold my copy for around 175 in 2012....

Before he was deceased (RIP)....they were in the mid range of other 98 Autographs....40-50. Picked mine up for if i remember, $40

Very well said.....LEAF has defenilty "hurt" the prices of a lot of the mid card/mid range level autographs. Especially the active signers. The Topps WCW Autograph set will always be epic and sell at a higher level....but even me ( who collects and even came VERY close to completing the entire set in 2010) would rather pick up the mid range Signers for 1/4 of the price (LEAF version) to add to my PC. I love Kevin Nash (one of the WCW Autogaphs i kept in my PC). But i was able to pick up his Topps WWE, TNA Relic Auto, WWE Mat Autograph for less than $50. So it doesn't make to much sence to pay the $100-150 price that the WCW Topps Nash Autograph demands. This goes for quite a few wrestlers

Same here. I have Leaf autos of Hall, Adam Bomb, Luger, and Rick Steiner which all sell for a fraction of the wcw price mainly because they cost me that much less. Dean Malenkos wcw used to be a solid $150-200 but now he has a wwe auto for $20

I am not sure about the ungraded cards but there are a few that are PSA graded that are not being shilled. Can you post a link to the ones that you think are getting spiked up on people?

Ohhhhh yeahhhhhh

ebay seller shan-selln definitely has some suspicious auctions going on. This bidder b***i ( 0 ) conveniently bid up numerous cards at the last minute. 0 feedback rating something smells fishy.

Yeah I bid on a couple but was not going to pay the prices those were ending at. Cards were kept in bad cases. Most no mention of condition and what appears to be shilling. I can wait until people complete their sets to pick up the few I want
